Thanks for the well thought out reply Jim, almost a week after the event!π Sir really can do no wrong in Jimβs world can he? ππ Some of us have busy lives elsewhere! It comes to something when you have to resort to nit picking details and common human traits to "destroy" the opposition. Remind me how many tory dissenters there are, how many have resigned their posts lately. Wouldn't your time be better spent on the conservative fb page, emptying the rats out of the sack, calming dissent, getting them to all pull together. Good luck with that! I note we don't have a Sir Boris, anything to do with his lack of moral character and modus operandii? Not fit for the role, even his own mates won't knight him.

I feel you are wasting your time here. Jim is a Labour bot. A bit like a red-painted Dalek which constantly repeats in a shrill metallic voice "Vote Labour! Vote Labour! Vote Labour!".

Terrorist groups huh!π Whilst Rishi bans them, Starmer invoices them! πππ Yeh right, scraping the barrel, you and Rishi, in your efforts to distract from the chaos in the tory party. Neither of you understand how lawyers should work, It is a βfundamental principleβ of the justice system that lawyers represent people with whose views they do not necessarily agree. Of course the problematic word there for you and Rishi is "Principle". Evidenced by the current Rwanda bill, ignoring our commitment to international human rights, overriding the courts of the land. The last resort for anyone should be the supreme court, not a partial tory minister acting on the whims of his bayng Mail reading acolytes. Your efforts might be better applied sorting out the divisions in the tory party.

Except that taking legal cases outside of the UK its a matter of choice! If Sir is content being paid for working for known scumbags / terrorists / murderers whilst also hypocritically voting to ban their organisation back home in the UK, then I suppose you could say that says quite a bit about Sirs βPrinciplesβ.π ππ

I suspect that parliament is so ineffectual exactly because such a high percentage are lawyers ... they're happy to say anything if the price is right.
No doubt the current Post Office scandal has only 'ignited' now because a general election is due and there are votes to be won.
Principles ... what principles ?

Rog This is just as I posted in the Horizon thread about legal misgivings from lawyer M.P.s and Lords who raised concerns about a block decision for sub postmasters. The same vultures are now rubbing their palms over the possibility of a further bonanza on the Illegal Immigration bill.

You don't think the economic migrant situation is one that needs to be addressed? How many would you allow in, a million, ten million, a hundred million?

You don't think the economic migrant situation is one that needs to be addressed? How many would you allow in, a million, ten million, a hundred million? It is, as you relentlessly point out, a problem. But much as you would hope the Rwanda plan will succeed...I bet not a soul will be deported in this way. Still, there's still a bit more than six months to give it another go...π
