I'm guessing that's the wrong link.

Yes it is. I’ll see if I can find some of farmers protests in Germany and France. There was some good footage of barges blocking a waterway. It looks like their is a massive groundswell of public opinion.

Isn’t this fairly average behaviour for French farmers?

Not for the Germans though.

Not for the Germans though. The French farmers are protesting they don’t get paid enough and are hard done by. The Germans are protesting against the advances of the Far Right in Germany. These two things are not connected.

The far right? I have read it's about a proposed withdrawal of diesel subsidies for agricultural purposes...

Protesters are seeking to defend German democracy by having the political party AfD banned. Which is kind of funny when you think about it.

I fail to see the irony. Anyhow that isn't what the German tractor guys are demonstrating about.

These two things are not connected. Far Right, as reported. Mind you, anything to the left of centre is always reported as 'Far Right'. You wonder how the Far Right might be described, if it ever appears, in anything other than miniscule numbers. 'Cry wolf' or simple hyperbole? Both, perhaps.

In Germany when they say 'far right' they are not exaggerating. I'm sure you would consider them to be an entirely reasonable bunch of nice chaps who love their mum though.

I'm not an expert. Here in Britain though we have for example, Jacob Rees-Mogg, a Conservative (if ever there were one) being described in some circles as fascist.

From some perspectives that may not innacurate, but I can't say I've ever heard it. But in Der Fatherland things are more extreme. You should look into it.😂

What ever you want to call it. The level of civil disobedience all over Europe at the min must be a worry to those in power.
