I met a geyser who said he was a labour voter but he washed his hair several times a day. It transpired that he was a shampoo socialist.

there's nowt wrong with that, it's where my pension fund is, instead of being invested in property through a third party, a pension provider. I worked on below average wage for a charity for many years with no pension to speak of, we both had the skill to do lots ourselves. We managed our houses fairly, no guarantee a pension fund would. We are still on less than our resident trucker with his 35k. Latest news was that a comfortable pension would be above 35k a year each. We are well below that. You do not need to justify your choices to anyone, especially me. It's the constant jibes and promotion of your 'committed socialist' credentials I was questioning. As Andyberg pointed out, in action you're more tory than anyone else here. Rog To be fair, Jim might spend good chunks of his time/ money helping those less fortunate than himself. Or, he might dedicate some of his time to community work or such like. We don't know because he doesn't talk about this. All the commentary of his life refers to matters specifically regarding him and his family. What a committed socialist would consider to be a selfish commentary.

As usual, inventing reasons as to why one thing leads to another, when there is no connection. You go to a lot of effort to construct false arguments.

(at least I think that is its name) - A community circus that Jim has posted about quite a lot, although I think he has taken a step back from the management side due to old age... Jim will confirm...

This is logical, widely known, evidenced on this forum by the words of yourself, no less.

A committed socialist and buy to let landlord. Your free choice in both cases but don't you feel it puts you in a glass house whilst you're haranguing others ? Rog We are still on less than our resident trucker with his 35k. I should think so too. I put food on the nation's table, you run around wearing baggy checked trousers, oversized shoes and a red plastic nose, parping a honk horn. Which of us is of more use to Society?

Jim will confirm... Old Age!!! Harrumph! I'm 6 3/4 in my head, I don't know why I have the eyes, ears and bladder of an almost 70 yr old. Not stopped performing, currently getting a bit of stamina back on the unicycle for our next big show, 8/9 March, to be performed in the ancient St Chad's church across the road. I'm no longer an employee, but Chair of Board of Trustees. We appointed a CEO 3 years ago, Noreen and I had been doing that role for a few years, of necessity, voluntarily, due to now resolved funding and staffing issues. The company has been close to the brink a few times since 1989, still thriving though. This week's voluntary work included a meeting with the church council, our landlords , about improving our building and a few hours repairing unicycles for the upcoming performance. www.skylightcircusarts.com Also staying young with a few classes, functional fitness, pilates and swimming - we attend a heavily staffed accessible swimming class to keep Noreen safe if she gets a cataplectic paralysis, it's happened but I dealt with it, I swim close to her. Started those about a year ago, made an amazing difference to flexibility, mobility and strength. That's on top of the Silver Circus and adult circus sessions. On top of that we are downsizing, sorting, selling, donating or binning stuff prior to moving into a bungalow round the corner on the estate - for young andrew's benefit in might have been the gamekeepers cottage, there's certainly a tradition with dogging lads round here ( no no no, not that sort dogless) hunting with lurchers. We are ready to roll, as ever awaiting solicitors getting their act together. Doing up this house too, ready for sale so we can get solar, battery and ashp on the bungalow, roof faces south - ideal.

Man cannot live by bread alone. Many people need more than a little screen to keep them happy, a bit if creativity is good. Your wage increase gets put on top of food prices, it's a market crying out for competition😉 No need for the costume you describe either, I'll be a goblin in the upcoming show, squashed by a 4ft globe for comick effeckt. Your ideas are sooo last century dahling.

It's not like we get eu grants to keep going because what we do is of so little use or interest to anyone that it couldn't survive in the free market. If you get my drift. And anyway, if it's such a Gravy Train then there's nothing stopping you jumping aboard. You just need to pass an HGV1 driving test and you're away.

Sooo last century dahling, they funded a street performance course for the unemployed 1993. Would have suited you, with your stunning wit and unruly hair. There's a queue across the channel for your job😉 Are you delivering ultra processed food btw? Feed the poor with crap.

Feed the poor with crap. I deliver whatever people buy. If you think the poor should be making different lifestyle choices then perhaps you should write to Sir Kneelalot and tell him which products should be verboten.

Loads of noise when people do things they deem selfish, whilst doing selfish things themselves. Purport is just perfect, nail on the head.
