It will just be the usual. More handouts of borrowed cash to the favoured groups without any idea how it may be repaid. Oh, and punitive taxation of vaping, the widespread adopton of which, instead of smoking, has very possibly saved more lives than any medical advancement in my lifetime.

I was hearing about 'honeycomb lung' a new medical issue caused specifically by vaping ... doesn't sound that benign.

Perhaps diacetyl isn't banned where Harvard Health did their research but this is the U.K., and it's banned.

Itβs probably the case that vapes have helped addicted smokers get off cigarettes onto vapes, the latter being less harmful. However vapes are also marketed at and used by a large swathe of children who were not previously smokers. Smoking vapes is definitely more harmful than not smoking at all, and of course there is the added risk of e-cig battery fires, lots of plastic waste, lots of litter created. Some vapes contain highly toxic stuff
So I say tax it. Those drug addicts who have switched to it to get over their nicotine addiction have had plenty of time to come off gently. And with a pack of 20 fabs being Β£16 or more these days, there would have to be a lot of tax on vapes to catch up. Keep it cheaper than smoking by all means, but there is still plenty of scope for taxing this silly and self-indulgent habit.

My point was you can match link for link.
Some say it's harmful, some say not ... either way it's optional so a fair target for heavy tax.

Obviously my girls are not interested in the slightest but it is very popular.

Smoking vapes is definitely more harmful than not smoking at all, Had you studied chemistry at proper school, you would know that vapours cannot be smoked. Fascinating. But if you smoke a cigarette you also inhale some of the vapours coming off it. Most people who arenβt obsessed by pointless pedantry tend to refer to the act as βsmokingβ rather than βsmoking and inhaling vapourβ. And so the word βsmokingβ is not commonly used in its literal sense in this context.

To vape is a verb.
When offspring #1 talks about the others at school she says 'they vape' or 'they were vaping'.
Vaping and smoking are two separate activities.

You will note that I wrote 'To vape is a verb' not 'vape is a verb'.
