Andy Street has, in effect, dumped the Tories, no blue or mention of Tories in his publicity. Will they have the gall to claim it as a Tory win if he does remain mayor? They are desperate enough. Meanwhile the groupthink message is- all fine here Rishi is still pm, move along, nothing to see, we are all happy as any pig in deep shit! I find it interesting that as bad as the present government have been, it is being predicted that Labour will not achieve a majority at the general election.

Maybe due to the growth in popularity of independent candidates who have (collectively) had great success.
The cons sure did get a kicking.

Khan won in London. My bus and tube pass for over 60s is still on. All hail Foxy's hated Mayor. Curious what the craic is for the wrinkleypass*? I have to pay £10 a year to get train and tram in Greater Manchester on my pass. Buses free nationally of course. * I had to get a friend, expert in theatrical makeup, to age me before I could get the pass obvs. 😉

If you live in London and are over 60, you pay £20 for an over 60s pass. Gives free tube and bus travel (within the GLA area). The Mayor (well it's really the GLA) also fund half price travel for job-seekers. Plenty of buses and very regular tube services even in outer London, rarely have to wait over 5 to 10 mins. We persuaded my elderly mother to give up driving not long ago, she was very hesitant, but now speaks very highly of our public transport system. I accept the system wouldn't work so well in lessor populated areas though.
Once you reach retirement age you don't have to pay the £20.
