Had enough of your lying mates, multiple ineffectual leaders, squabbling and chaos around you, sliding down the poll helter skelter?
Join the madding crowd and move to Labour, you know it makes sense to join the winning team.

I'm not sure who this is directed at. I'm not aware of any Tory supporters on this site. I know, you like to invent them.

I'm not surprised that Conservative MPs feel the Labour party is a natural home for them. The only adjustment they need to make is to wear a different colour tie.

So presumably this means you will welcome the widely-predicted Labour victory...

I don't give a shit which one of them wins because they're both the same.

I don't give a shit which one of them wins because they're both the same. But when the cons won their landslide victory you often stated that it was because the people had recognised that the tories were the best choice to represent them and that it was a searing indictment of labour's failed policies and also you were confident (and rather gloating) that labour would not form another government in your lifetime...thus indicating a clear perceived difference between the two parties... So what changed, apart from the tories creating a huge shit-storm of a failed party? π

Statistics can prove anything obviously, but looking at the turn-out figures for national elections, it could be argued that a general malaise with politics is apparent post 1997, which was only stirred by the Brexit referendum. In this regard maybe the Tories simply recognised the 'zeitgeist' and rode the wave ... unsuccessfully. The turn-out of this year's election will be interesting, although a Labour landslide looks inevitable whatever it is ... I suspect quite low. Rog

Brexit was as good for Johnson as the Falklands war was for Thatcher, and for mostly the same reasons...it's unsurprising that nationalist politics are always deeply unpleasant.
I suspect the next election, whenever the squatter at no.10 decides to call it (I suspect it will be when he no longer has a choice) that the turnout will buck the trend.
It is widely predicted that Lab won't gain a decisive majority and so the question will be who they get into bed with...tbh I dread to think, although something Scottish seems likely.
The tories are already spewing derision in this area; someone should remind them of the transparently cynical arrangement they had with the libs under Nick Clegg - remember him? The very definition of a useful idiot.

I believe the size of the majority for Labour will only be restricted by the turn-out.
Has the recent political shenanigans returned the general air of c.b.a. or will the electorate turn out to send a strong message ?
