More details in today’s Evening Standard – Aussie hereditary ex-con [teamed with the Chinese] is in the frame apparently - Mention of the marina dispute comes right at the end – The sad thing is that the concept of the redevelopment is everything that supporters of the Blue Ribbon Network policies could desire; it just seems so unnecessary to boot out the present incumbents altogether, when temporary relocation could ensure continuity of boating facilities with experience in the area.

Latest update from the Evening Standard today –
“Billions of pounds of infrastructure deals with China were being set up today during a visit to London by vice-premier Ma Kai. The deals include Chinese contractor CITIC Construction investing £200 million in the £1.7 billion London Royal Albert Docks project.”

To help illustrate the area concerned, with outlined original Mayoral proposal for marine business development – The burning question just now, is how far this aspiration for building a massive boatyard, increasing the marina area and incorporating a marine trades training centre, will be considered by the Chinese.

When I heard about China's interest in that area I assumed they would be interested in using it as an import dock rather than for pleasure.
Thats the first thing that came to mind but probably totally wrong !!

For those not in the habit of visiting CWDF, the owner of the marina business has just posted there, and has said that they will be in Bow County Court on this coming Monday 21 November.

I have just looked up tomorrow’s listing for this case, and details are below. Only 10 minutes allotted – it is a paper shuffling exercise and there is no room for presenting any sort of argument.
In the County Court at Bow Chambers D Monday 21 November 2016 Before Deputy District Judge Boon
2:00 PM C03BO078 GLA Land & Property ltd -v- Miller & Miler - 10 Mins - Possession Other
I did offer to help out any way I could some days ago, but understandably perhaps, Leigh-Jayne has not come back to me, so I do not know what is to happen and/or whether she has managed to engage professional help.
Just possibly I suppose, a pro would know what could be suggested within that 10 mins for deferral to a more considered hearing, but my suspicions are that it is all too late for that now.
I will go along anyway, and report back what happens.

Unexpectedly cheerful news to report.
The judge decided, before the parties were due to go before her [well, long past due strictly, because it was well over an hour before the previous cases were dealt with] that the extent of filed information was too great to be disposed of in a ten minute hearing, and proposed an adjournment.
The judge took pains to go through the options once everyone had filed in, and to cut the story short Leigh-Jayne is given 21 days to prepare a ‘proper’ Defence in compliance with the CPR, and to file a Counter-Claim if she wishes at the same time. There is to be a directions hearing for the first available date after 9 January.
ITN had done an interview in the morning, and at least one member of the press was present at court throughout. It will be interesting to see what the media make of it.

Excellent news. Good on the judge too. That's my idea of how a justice system should work.

Thanks erivers, was hoping I could get to see the item. It was an effective one, and Leigh-Jayne seemed to come across well.

I noticed this very glitzy "Houseboat" at Limehouse Marina the other day. It also suggests availability in Royal Docks. Not sure what that means but perhaps they intend to build more of them. Is this the future of the water currently occupied by Gallions Point Marina ? The advert reads like a joke "these lifestyles are in short supply..." but I can assure you this thing is real I can take a photo of it tomorrow when I go out for my dinghy tour. It says it is fully motorised with a shit treatment plant. I could see some fun being had navigating that round the isle of dogs from Limehouse down to Royal Docks !!! What a con. And if you have to ask how much it is you can't afford it That particular mooring in the marina is a bit grim there are always dickhead yobboes drinking laughing gas from balloons there. Maybe it will get gated at some point.
