Latest from Leigh-Jayne is that she now has a top QC on the job, which is a considerable relief. County court hearing on the 24th, but also yet another eviction application from another body - !!!

From her canalworld posting: - Hi there all, this is Leigh from Gallions Point Marina with an update. We have fantastic support from one of the top QC's (internationally!) who is also a High Court Judge and member of the Privy Council. Thank you Lord for sending us an angel! Nigel, Del, update: proof that the dog ate their homework = "despite exhaustive efforts" GLA unable to locate alleged Tenancy at Will. Off to Bow County Court again on 24th January at 10am but this time with a barrister who specialises in cases tainted by fraud. Oh, and now the twonks at RoDMA (Royal Docks Management Authority) have just issued proceedings to evict us too - so have to attend Edmonton County Court on 7th February....so, just what happened to the protection and enhancement of moorings and boat yard facilities as enshrined in law Blue Ribbon Network???It would be good to get there, but I don't know yet whether that will be possible. Anyone else who is available and in the area could attend for moral support.

Update following this morning’s hearing, which I managed to attend. The GLA wanted a summary judgment giving possession, but Leigh-Jayne’s barrister managed to persuade the court that this matter should be given a full trial, which will involve a day and a half at central London County Court sometime in May. A good result, and gives Leigh-Jayne the chance to put together a witness statement saying everything she wants, while the barristers can put together an amended defence. An Evening Standard reporter was there the whole morning, and an article may well come out tomorrow.

A canalworld poster has provided a link to the latest announcement naming a UK developer as the Mayor’s partner, instead of any of the Chinese consortiums that he was engaging with previously. www.constructionenquirer.com/2017/09/18/1bn-london-docklands-scheme-developer-named/ They have undertaken large waterfront developments in other countries, though how far that includes [if at all] actual boatyard and marina facilities I do not know. They also promise that they will be “ looking forward to working on this project with the local community . . .” though whether that includes Leigh-Jayne and the existing marina people is unclear. Leigh-Jayne has promised an update, which I look forward to seeing, as I have been concerned for some time at hearing nothing since the last court hearing.

" They also promise that they will be “looking forward to working on this project with the local community . . .” "
What do previous 'local communities' with which they have 'worked' have to say about them?

"It is controlled by what is arguably the lowest-profile billionaire siblings in London — the Livingstones. These most secretive of brothers, Ian, 49, and Richard, 47, have built up a global empire with combined assets worth more than £4 billion without generating much more than a handful of articles in the business pages of the newspapers. Last month they added Cliveden House, the Grade I-listed hotel inextricably linked with prurient public outrage and front page tabloid exposure, to their family collection in a £30 million deal. It was an odd choice for businessmen who are so “media-phobic” they have hardly ever been photographed, let alone interviewed. Despite accumulating personal wealth estimated at almost £1.3 billion — far more than that other more publicity-hungry set of London property brothers the Candys — little is known about the lives of Ian and Richard Livingstone outside the tightest possible circle of family and close friends." www.standard.co.uk/news/london/london-brothers-behind-a-4-billion-secret-empire-7600590.htmllrp.co.uk/en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ian_Livingstone_(property_developer)en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Livingstone_(businessman)

So far as waterside developments are concerned, those were in Panama and South Africa. One would presumably have to search in that direction for any articles that may have arisen relating to such inter-action.
