I was brought up to endeavour always to 'look for the good and positive' ... the alternative is a dark pit I'd rather not consider. I see nothing wrong with hoping for the best, whilst preparing for the worst, and celebrating my good fortune Rog

I'm certainly not paranoid - but I do worry about all those people following me ...... My car ask me if it could do anything.... I didn't even know it Talked!..I told it to shut up and it said sorry. I must have turned something on That car doesn't need a mechanic it needs an exorcist !!!

Rainy here earlier but seems to have dried up for now ...... bit grey and mizzog atm but fingers crossed it'll brighten later.
Got what sounds like a dodgy wheel bearing on the Volvo, need to get that on the ramp and check it is that. After all that bloody work on the motor starter unit, I've just been asked if I can modify it to have a remote emergency stop. Well at least I know exactly which bloody link wire to remove to wire the switch into Good point though, looking in my engine room stores I've got a brand new boxed emergency stop button left over from my company stores, I'll be able to charge that to the job and recoup a bit more money

clouded over this afternoon and seems to be getting progressively chillier.
Finally got the motor starter running yesterday, there was a tiny wire link missing. but to work that out, meant working out the complete circuit diagram of the damn thing.
I did find quite a lot of loose connections in the unit and I suspect that it fell out, when I was prising the wiring loom apart to get the faulty contactor out.
eventually when I worked out what the problem was I spent half an hour looking for the thing (not so much for the bit of wire but for peace of mind that I had found the problem and wasn't going nuts !!!)
Today had a much more successful day repairing some power tools and putting new plugs/skts on damaged cables.
A couple of pumps to look at and a comressor with an earth fault to check out tomorrow and that will be me virtually up to date with all the things broken recently !!!

The men and women on the ground seem unfailingly helpful ... pity about management . Glad your friend was helped Rog Apparently they were a great bunch of long serving employees with some shocking tales to tell about the management ... that is what I have always found. Some I have spoken to are desperately unhappy about management.

Yes I’ve seen the alteration to your post now. So anyway the boat advertised in London is either wider than 14ft as advertised or it’s something unusual. been looking through the lists of Scarr built boats at Beverley around the turn of the century and can't spot Olive .....
of course the lists are not necessarily complete

I’m presuming it’s a Sheffield keel going by the length, most other boats in this class are 15.5 ft wide and 4ft deep. So if it isn’t these dimensions it’s something unusual. standard Sheffield size was nominal 62' x 14' beam
sorry 15' brain fade

Family harmony groups are almost always the finest.
As you enjoy the Petersons you might enjoy this collabaration between the Rankins and the Chiftains
