To be honest VW is not a good example as the court cases are mounting up against them and they could easily end up bankrupt due to inept handling of the emissions fiddle! However other companies can end up being secretly bought out over time as shares are bought and sold on the open market I think your talking out of your rear end if you think the Emissions Case will alter the ownership of VW. I don't believe you will see Cornerstone German Companies ever being bought out as it is simply not in Germanys interest.Germany is an export led economy, why would they surrender control of the engine of their Economic Growth? The actions being brought out worldwide are getting on to what the company is worth. Some states in the USA want all the cars off the road and bought back by VW In germany prosecutors are looking at large scale fines as well I would not like to be in that position and remember other car makers want them to go down and are putting the boot in as well. Even though I have a beetle it wouldnt bother me if they went under and the USA would be doing somersaults as it helps them sell home grown cars

I hear what you say Peter but I stick buy my opinion that VW won't go under and will always be German owned. On a slightly different note, although some of the VW brands share the same technology and emissions I wonder if they,Skoda,Seat,Lamborghini etc are all standalone companies?I guess they must be.

Cameron is spending 9 million on pro EU leaflets and mine wil be sent straight back to number 10. Wouldn't it be great if a few million of these landed back at 10 Downing St Westminster London SW1A 22AA
Doing the rounds on FB at the mo, got to be worth a stamp!

Glad you posted that here as I am not on farce book, but this is exactly what I will do with my 'phoney pamphlet' when it arrives.

Its an absolute disgrace that rate payers money is used this way, where is the British sense of Fair Play now? I see there is more being spent on this mailshot than the whole vote leave budget,

Where did you see that they are trying to stop it Peter? I am reading here that Cameron is justifying it by saying that the Government are not neutral.

It is official Government policy that we remain in the EU. Given that, I see no difference between this and a union recommending to its members to accept or reject a wage offer, and spending union funds in doing so.

Because we hate industry, all those nasty men with dirty finger nails. Yuk. Oh and that's not to mention them thinking that they should have a say in their lives. Hello Mr Holden! I actually appreciated your comments on Canalworld, and I think it would be nice if you could pop over here sometimes to join in. Sometimes you have agreed with what I've said, and sometimes we've been at loggerheads, so I think you and I have a fairly level table. Welcome to Thunderboat. You can say here as you please without having to worry about being 'moderated'. You only need to worry about offending other members here, and/or making yourself look like a prat. But here is the freedom to say your pieces, and you will be in very good company as we all seem to be boaters / have an interest in the inland waterways. Come on in - the water's shallow - but it can be as deep as you like if you care to step or swim towards the Deep End. So far, everybody here seems pleasant and courteous.

Main difference is that a Union spends its own funds, whereas the Government is spending taxpayers money. Hardly right or fare.

Ford Transit built in Southampton, factory closed, production moved to Turkey where a new factory was built with EU aid and Turkey isn't in the EU. ? The Turks are sticking a knife in our backs and grinning whilst they twist it, making sure they cut the veins to our kidneys and liver. It'll be great when Turkey joins the EU and then they all come over where they can build Ford Transits in Birmingham whilst the British cook pizzas and kebabs for them. The real traitors are those who gave the jobs to the Turks to make more profit for themselves and destroy British enterprise. But - perhaps Turks are more worthy than Brits? All Brits seem to be interested is in tattooing themselves head to toe. Have you seen that disgusting Beckham creature? You know - the one married to that ugly skeleton.

Cameron is spending 9 million on pro EU leaflets Er.... you mean he is spending OUR money on that shite? I really don't know why people don't just rush this plonker and hang him from the nearest lamp post. Osborne and Boris at the same time. Oh no.... I hear a knock on the front door..... it's M16.... One good thing about Cameron is that Sam, his wife, is rather fruity and we get to see her pictures in the press sometimes, so it's not all bad. Better than Tony Blair's wife, eh? (snigger!)(and vomit!)

"A lot of people want to know what the government thinks,' says David. ' So I'm spending their money to put the Government's case.' Another instance of a government that claims to be strapped for cash but can find any amount for a project that serves their own agenda. Could they be sued for misappropriation of public money ??"
A comment from today's Daily Wail. Let's sue Cameron, then! Sometimes I think Britain needs a revolution. But everyone is too fat and lazy there to do anything. Changing the channel on the TV, or going down the pub seems to be the answer. Or going to the tattoo parlour...
