Christ! I've more to say than MJG! Then again this is a boating forum not a shed dragging, metal stealing, hedgehog eating forum.

As I've said before, it's just an accident that I'm ahead. Canalworld was the first forum I'd ever been on, apart from a very short-lived term on a Finnish forum where I thought I'd find English speakers - well, I did, but they were all non-native-English-speaking foreigners trying to get jobs and apartments and that kind of shit and I got banned immediately after posting something inappropriate. I didn't even know what 'greenies' were until I'd been on Canalworld for a year and a half! I do wish someone else would develop verbal diarrhoea and overtake me. (edited after second thoughts )

I would welcome a lot more queries about boating in general, and especially on rivers and tidal waters. There are a couple of people on CWDF who invariably give sound and sensible advice in response to such questions, 'Scholar Gypsy' and 'Tony Brooks', but by far the most prolific poster of rubbish navigational advice is that vacuous 'Naughty Cal' who, with her minimal knowledge of the subject, invariably comes out with nothing that's worth hearing. In fact there have been instances in the past when the advice given was downright stupid and potentially dangerous.
There was a good example of the sort of tripe she dishes out last week when the Trent was rising after all the rain, . . complaining about their weekend trip upriver from Torksey being impossible because

Another reason why we need the word canal or something in the forum name to give us a higher hit rate when people do a search for something like 'canal forum'

Well, if it's full of the sort of crap she posts on CWDF, it's not going to be much of an encouragement to anyone.
