Two questions-
Is there a shortage of minicab drivers in London?
Is there a surfeit of housing in London?
If the answer to both questions is "no" then whether or not he is responsible for the fire, what is this chap doing here in the first place?

A candle vigil on this one would be a tad ironic methinks. Perhaps everyone should just piss on a slum landlord, much more fitting on this occasion. Or set a slum landlord on fire then stand beside them and -not- piss on them.

According to Sickipedia, the reason so many people failed to escape was that all the exit signs were written in English.

We prayed after the Ariana Grande concert bombing and it seems God decided to listen.

I presume this is her rant. It's a cheap shot and was widely publicised by Labour supporters. At the time the Confirmed death toll was 17. The media were correct. Anyone else was legally missing they can't print that they are dead. I've not seen anywhere that has not said that they expect to find anyone alive. Afaik. Untill a coroner/Dr or a court confirms death then the media are 100% correct in their reporting.

It seems odd that with the terrorism threat level being quite high lately nobody appears to be considering this as having been deliberate. Is there any particular reason why a terrorist might not do this kind of thing? I must admit I did get the sneaking suspicion that behind all of this, there may have been a disgruntled resident trying to prove a point about previously voiced fire safety risks. I'm nearly 60 and I've never ever heard of a domestic refrigerator catching fire. Strangely I believe they do. We once had a washing machine catch fire. Scarey stuff.

Just wanted to say this. There have been reports of children from the surrounding area turning up in nightclothes to take their GCSE's There was a heart warming story today where a 16 year old girl escaped the fire, went to school and sat her GCSE exam, then returned back there to help the volunteers. And people say teenagers are all the same.

You do wonder how the authorities might identify all the victims when a/ many of them didn't have tenancy agreements to live there and b/ quite possibly, some of them had no right to live in Britain.

With a fire that intense and that long burning, only careful forensic examination of the building in it's entirety will give the number of victims .... and that will take a long time. Giving a number of casualties at this stage is pure guess work ...... people never think when they are climbing on a bandwagon and screaming "cover up" ..... or maybe they depend on other people to think for them. Bloody hell there is still uncertainty about 9/11 casualties after how many years ? ....... and they expect instant results ....... Pah !!!

The lack of official information about something will always lead to speculation and accusations of a cover up. The police statement about hoping that the eventual number of casualties would be less than triple figures went someway to provide information. I do think that the 'authorities' could have handled this aspect better i.e. giving numbers of known missing couched in terms of it being an educated guess. From what I've read this is what is happening in the area and is to be expected, by not providing the information it starts to appear that no one is taking control, when that happens others take it upon themselves to take control and generally tend to make things worse. Poor leadership in my opinion (that isn't aimed at any individual person or authority).
