I like chocolate as well but Jaynes diet means that I cant have any sometimes life is poo This is the problem with a woman's diet...... When I trained as a nurse we all went on a diet in my group of friends...6 of us..providing mutual support in counting calories.... I had never dieted before and duly existed on....apple for breakfast...apple plus orange for lunch and omelette with tin sweetcorn plus apple for tea....will power strong in those days and thee weight melted off. What I did not realise is that 'diet' to my more experienced friends meant the 'lettuce leaf zero calories' in our joint meals and the 'mars bar' pick me up when they didn't think anyone could see. It all came to light when one of them saw another cheating and they all they admitted what their diets comprised of.....end of group diet....I've never really bothered since those days...but i did lose far to much weight at that time...peer pressure worked for me.

She has them on a strict diet. Her hubby tells us that they get the scrapings of the family's dinner plates and we see her giving them regular (big) treats for good behaviour. 'oh, no, that doesn't count because they are on a strict diet at mealtimes'. Some peeps just believe what they want to believe.

That's me making Moomin-shaped gingerbread biscuits for the kids on my bus, all 3 routes, last Tuesday evening. All gobbled up now. They had their hands in the box like piranhas. Then when they asked what was in them I said "Rat poison!" Here's what's really in them if you feel like being adventurous: 150ml black treacle 150ml sugar 1.5 teaspoons ground ginger 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 1 teaspoon ground cloves 125g butter 200ml cream 1.5 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda 650g plain flour 1. Cream the butter, syrup and sugar. 2. In another bowl, mix the spices and soda with the flour. 3. Stir that butter-syrup-sugar sludge whilst slowly shifting the flour mixture into it. Pour the cream in too, stir it all up well. 4. Put some cellophane over the bowl and chuck it in the fridge overnight (cool, not cold). 5. Next day knead the dough on a lightly floured surface, roll it out to about 0.5cm thickness and use a cutter to stamp out the shapes. 6. Onto a baking sheet lined with baking parchment, not too close to each other, bake at 180C for roughly 10 minutes. If too soft chuck 'em back in again 2 minutes at a time, until a nice colour. They will harden a little on cooling.
