That's me making Moomin-shaped gingerbread biscuits for the kids on my bus, all 3 routes, last Tuesday evening. All gobbled up now. They had their hands in the box like piranhas. Then when they asked what was in them I said "Rat poison!" Here's what's really in them if you feel like being adventurous: 150ml black treacle 150ml sugar 1.5 teaspoons ground ginger 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 1 teaspoon ground cloves 125g butter 200ml cream 1.5 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda 650g plain flour 1. Cream the butter, syrup and sugar. 2. In another bowl, mix the spices and soda with the flour. 3. Stir that butter-syrup-sugar sludge whilst slowly shifting the flour mixture into it. Pour the cream in too, stir it all up well. 4. Put some cellophane over the bowl and chuck it in the fridge overnight (cool, not cold). 5. Next day knead the dough on a lightly floured surface, roll it out to about 0.5cm thickness and use a cutter to stamp out the shapes. 6. Onto a baking sheet lined with baking parchment, not too close to each other, bake at 180C for roughly 10 minutes. If too soft chuck 'em back in again 2 minutes at a time, until a nice colour. They will harden a little on cooling. They sound good, but Im a lazy cook...can cook but don't bother

"10 Foods Proven to Trigger Kidney Stones: 9. Dairy Foods We eat dairy products because they are high in calcium to build strong bones. However, for those prone to kidney stones, calcium is not a friend. Excretion of calcium in the urine can encourage kidney stones to form." Yeah but it states 'THOSE PRONE' to kidney stones should avoid....I worked as all know by now in Urology and Ive nursed loads with kidney stones..some of whom would come in regularly to have them Zapped and then have to pee out grit...the most memorable was a young lad of 16 who had a huge kidney stone that required surgery to remove.... I think at my age I'm reasonably safe but thank you very much Ross for that reminder of the dangers of over indulgence..... ...not that there is any possibility that I'll be over indulging regarding my chocolate advent calendar....

It wasnt kind to us earlier a steam train came through at speed Taff nearly had heart failure as whilst he has been on a steam train he has never been on a bridge with one going underneath at full chat and then about 5 minutes later the instant blizzard got us!! He is asleep in front of the Rayburn now twitching at the slightest noise

Ok, so own up. Who puts Christmas decorations on their boat?
As you can imagine, my boat is a pit of misery, doom and gloom. So no decorations for me.
....Oh...does an empty bottle of Baileys Irish Cream count?
