Has anyone got interesting hobbies. I know There is a few things going on.
After much discussion a friend and I are going to start urban exploration.
Tonight I recced an empty tower block, it used to be a student block but is attached to a grade two listed mansion.
So knocking it down is a bit if an issue. It's been empty for twelve years.
The plan was to just climb the scaffolding outside but I found a way in so Sunday morning were going in.
We're going to do it properly(I hope)
Take only photos, leave only footsteps.
That and wild camping.
In fact we may of found some abandoned properties we can wild camp in the grounds and explore the property.
That and walking, mountain climbing, building recumbents and the usual golf, fishing cycling etc

I'd like to have a go at silversmithing, my friend does it and makes some amazing pieces. My only jewellery efforts have been wrapping wood around silver rings. I stopped when I moved onto my boat as the wood dust got everywhere. I often used rings that I'd found in the sea with my metal detector, which was my other hobby, searching in the sea for lost jewellery. Metal detecting was a fun and lucrative hobby when I lived in Spain. I persisted for a while when I moved to the UK, but searching for hours in a cold muddy field and finding fuck all wasn't quite as enjoyable as diving in the Mediterranean finding gold/silver.

If they are rings you made they are lovely. Well done I agree about diving in the med. I fully enjoyed snorkling out there in clear warm waters. I'm just upset that the go pro dident pick up the lovely sea life that I saw.

I was into metal detecting a good few years ago. I had a state of the art (at the time C-Scope 990-D), which easily paid for itself in the money and jewelry found on Cornish beaches. I even found my mates sister's wedding ring in the belly of a horse with it, which she paid a handsome reward for. However, being born and raised on the edge of Salisbury Plain, and in between Porton Down and Boscombe Down, you soon learn to realise that not all finds are good (UXB ), if you know what I mean.

I've been doing non-remote control plane activities with large brushless RC motors. An electric kayak now an electric BMX (I found the bike dumped in the cut). All DIY.
Next project is going to be an electric skateboard but I have to learn to ride a skateboard first, at 43 years old (oh dear).
I love the power you get from these little motors, its amazing.

They are nice! Made me think of this One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them, In the Land of Daventry where the Shadows lie.

My interesting hobby use to be Motocross and Enduro on two or three wheels, sadly a good while ago now.
When not furiously boat bodging it's walking with bonehead and cycling with Mrs Gazza and the Dwarf.
The mother in law describes boating as a hobby, I've never even attempted to explain to her that it's a bit more than a hobby - totally futile as there is not a snowflake in hells chance she would understand.

What started as summat to do, juggling, turned into a job, an outlet for my engineering abilities, making unicycles and other kit cos I had no money, and, although shy when younger, I learned how to perform. Teaching skills went nicely with this, I was a proper teacher for 2 years after qualifying. Used to play congas etc in a band with mates, did samba drumming for a while too.
Walking, swimming, cycling, climbing, canoeing over the years, canal boating since 2002. Grow veg and fruit in garden, currently get 5 hens, 3 hatched from eggs, though only 1 laying at moment , despite being threatened with a pan! Chopping wood for fire over winter.
A man of many talents, master of a couple!

Is that what we used to call "camping"? Bit of ground, tent, primus stove, bush to pee in, that sort of thing?
