To travel hopefully is a better thing than to arrive. Robert Louis Stevenson. Thanks, but not that one. I used to have it on WORD but occasionally run through my computer and delete things (that was one of them). I may have written it in my notes somewhere... it starts "It is better to..." (as I remember).

One thing i would like to do is sneak only a freight train and travel across America, like hobos of old.
I saw a YouTube video and they still do it. Well YouTubers not the hobos

Well YouTubers not the hobos I wonder what they do about having a slash? If you were on it a long time you'd need food and water easy enough to sort out but when it comes to relieving yourself it must get a bit technical.

It's something to do with not realising the destination can be all around you as you travel towards what you perceive as the destination. That what you seek is actually right where you are already. It's nothing crappy and 'deep' by Buddha or Indian philosophers, but something pointing out that people are always rushing and wanting to go faster.... to what exactly? Slow down, stop, and appreciate what you have right here. You are already at the destination.
It's like canal boating. One of my bosses thinks it must be agonising to travel at 4mph (max!) - but we are almost always busy boating, there's always something to do, and look at, and explore, or to take a photo of. What is he going to do when he flies to Turkey at 500mph and arrive at his hotel... what then? Boredom. And, knowing Turkey, food poisoning.

“It is not the destination where you end up but the mishaps and memories you create along the way.” - getting closer. Not this one though.
“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but having new eyes.” - also close.

Ah, I remember them from the olden days, Brain Optimised Optical Knowledge Sources. How quaint. I hate books. . Before getting caught ib the web/net I was occasionally obliged to use information source books as I like knowledge but with the web/net books are not needed. I specially hate all those trashy novels people read.

I do not read trashy novels but occasionally start a thriller but never finish them..used to but then discovered the amazing world of fact based articles....rarely read a whole book with the exception of a few what i perceive as interesting.

Love books. Love the feel and smell. Love the world they create in your head. Love serious books, and studious books, and comic books and trashy novels. I just love books. Just saying Rog

Just saying Rog Part of my hatred of books is that my parents had a bookshop when I was a small child and they did a fair bit of mail order. The noise of vinyl tape (brown packing tape) tearing off the rolls is indelibly imprinted in my brain and all because of books. They dominated everything. Not in a good way. Its personal. My kids like books and I encourage that but I dislike books other than factual reference type books. I use my own brain to create imaginary worlds anyway.
