Ah right, I guessed it was a touring car rather than a rally car. I only ever got to see the BDA escorts in historic rallying action, way before my time! That sounds a very interesting time in your life. Colin Chapman dipped his toes in boat building with the Moonraker boats built initially on Aquafibre hulls. It wasn't a total success though, they tried vacuum impregnation with some spectacular failures. I don't think old man Chapman found boats as easy to get on with as sports cars or F1! I've met Colin Chapman a couple of times at the factory, and the last time was in 1973 at the Formula 1 Grand-Prix at Zandvoort when Emerson Fittipaldi and Ronnie Peterson were the drivers of the Lotus team. My boss also imported the Moonrakers, that he liked to bring over himself from the UK. But as you say, he was much better with his car, and even a real genius at that. Peter. When we moored on the Broads near my local yard was a boat sales place and they had Emerson Fittipaldi's powerboat for sale. It was Ferrari red and had 3 x 500hp petrol engines. It had a double berth that you had to lay down and slide into. Phil

It's the net curtains that worry me.... A lot of barges have net curtains in the wheelhouse. Nothing suspect or unusual

I would say at least 2 years ago, and maybe even 3 or 4, as I think that I recognise one of the trees in the background Peter.

You were bit of a unit for a young un What you can see straight away is that rowing is a serious job in a very nice clinker built (by the looks of it) rowboat. Peter.
