I would just say 'the internet' in general given all the things it opens up. Life can have such peculiar 'turns'. If it wasn't for the Internet and eBay I would not have bid on a bicycle on the outskirts of Liverpool - and won it (there were no other bidders). Directly because of this moment, I ended up riding this bike from Worcestershire to Norway, and meeting a man on the Harwich-Esbjerg ferry who owned the narrowboat we bought from him four years ago. If it were not for the Internet, I would not have met 'the Witch' (Finnish chat site). If it were not for the Internet, I would not have met my friend in Virginia (USA) and gotten to know New York, Washington DC, and the Appalachians so well. If it were not for the Internet, there would be no Thunderboat, and no photo competition and subsequent drive round Wales and England to deliver calendars.

"Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase"- Proverbs, 13:11-13. (King James version).

I'm still disappointed over several things I expected as a boy that we would be using now. 1. Hover cars 2. Moonbase Alpha 3. Transporter room 4. The SSRN Seaview with the flying sub 5. Robots. you know, like Robbie...DANGER! DANGER! WILL ROBINSON DANGER!

You wait for UFOs out of the darkest reaches of Space and all that happens is that Monarch Airlines goes to the wall, and Maplin and Toys Я Us go down the drain. Maplin's : Bye-de-Bye Toys Я Us ? You're having a giraffe

I wonder if things will continue to progress so fast or whether we will plateau out.. I couldn't begin to list the notable advancements ..there are just so many and its muddling trying to potter through this high tech world of ours....its all so super speedy... Do u ever just feel like bailing out, slowing down and dis engaging? I get in so much trouble over the mess my computers are in but I just cannot keep up...

I dont mind tech if it helps me like on the bathtub, but I hate it when it just creates work and a lot of tech does just that, I never have enough hours in the day to get stuff done, so anything that takes up those hours has to go!

The advancement that has changed my life the most (whilst it isn't very noticeable to most people) is the gradual understanding/acceptance of mental health problems.

Yes, but if I went into a cafe and paid for a coffee and told them I just need to be left alone for a while, most places/people would leave me alone whilst I gathered my thoughts rather than throw me out.

But if you did that in a curtain shop, they’d just tell you to pull yourself together.
