Still a long way to go though. Well in terms of availability of treatment on the NHS anyway. Yes, but if I went into a cafe and paid for a coffee and told them I just need to be left alone for a while, most places/people would leave me alone whilst I gathered my thoughts rather than throw me out. My doctors surgery where I used to live offered me a 'room' where I could just go and be alone when the world became too overwhelming...now I'm much further down the road I just go over the Worms Head or another solitary place to sit and think....sitting in cafes never quite worked for me...

It has to be technology. Just look at computing.
My first computer was an Amstrad 128k, with built in disc drive and a green screen on which I wrote my own games such as ping pong.
In the 80's I then got my first games console, an 8 bit master system which revolustinised gaming for me.
In the mid 90's we got our firat p.c it cost £1400 and gaming went to another level. It also changed the way I was able to do my GCSE coursework.
Nowadays we have a gaming computer and a small desktop p.c which cost about £300. We tend to use a laptop or tablets nowadays.
My current phone has 64GB of memory and probably has a faster processor and can do more things than any of my first 3 computers put together.
I can do documents and print them wirelessly on the phone. To a 3 in one printer which is not much bigger than my sky box, our first printer was the size of a small car.
Nowadays gaming is so realistic and with massive games, the old games seem prehistoric.
I currently have most of the games I played in the Sega loaded onto my phone.

Games have never appealed to me so consequently I have never played them.
I talk shite on here as my computer gaming.
But your post made me curious as to how many Thunderboaters play computer games, from simple Candy Crush types (Jane's preference) to the more involved animated games ?
So what involvement in computer games do you have?
Rog

But that's about it.

Don't waste any time on computer games / consoles, played Wii sports type games when my daughters were young with them but that's about it.
Sooner go and do a track day or trip out than playing race games and sooner play a game of actual footy ( not that I play footy now) instead of sitting at home pretending it, that's just pretty sad IMHO!
(Obviously that doesn't include aimlessly walking round shooting up / killing the enemy using a wide variety of semi automatic weapons a-la COD)
No wonder so many kids kids today are such a bunch of useless, feckless wasters with no aims or ambition! 🙄

I'm better at coping as long as I can see others and they can see me - somethink to do with what happened many many years ago. We are all different.

Ive never played computer games though the kids did try to get me interested...for me couldn't see the appeal....they prob thought if mum got onboard I wouldn't criticise their time playing....
Our first computer built for us by my brother who as soon as technology started to advance leapt in with both feet...he kept it going for years until it started to make a strange ticking/whirring noise...I phoned him and held the receiver so he could hear ...as he shouted 'Turn it off' it went bang....

A friend was showing me an animated game to do with stealing cars. It had been his grandson, but an 'upgraded' version had come out, so he'd inherited the original. It was very impressive. The inter-action between the character representing 'the player' and the rest of the animated world is unbelievable. I can easily see how someone can while away hours playing such games, and get better and better at them. Just not my thing. Mind you I tried golf for a few years, and I can see how that can get you hooked. But I preferred the walk Rog

I like battfield and gta, world of tanks and that sort. I can't go out on the streets and do that kind of thing. To be honest I play a few things on my phone but only to pass the time in the bog or waiting for a bus etc. I like my Xbox but hardly play it anymore. We have a gaming p.c but it's at Nannys so nipper can play on it when he is there. He likes to do coding and stuff and will live stream games out on his YouTube channel. Couldent do that on an Omega 500. When I get to play on the console it's normally midnight when everyone's gone to bed and I can play a team game with the lads. I wouldent are time during the day. Too much to do.

We have the watersport game for Xbox (amongst others). Riding the raft down the rapids, jumping through hoops, and the bloody thing takes pictures of you doing it. Amazing stuff.
