This thread is the biggest load of bollocks that has been posted on here for a while..... I'm sure you said something yesterday. Anyway, Mr Quaysider, have you tried sticking a sharp scalpel blade into it to release the pressure, and then sear it shut with a red hot mooring pin? That's what we usually do. (on a more serious side, I should be scouring the Internet for information about this as the hospital staff may not know what they're dealing with, and all info can be filtered/kept in mind. you have given no explanation as to how this actually happened, which is obviously the most important first clue - physical injury? 'just happened' (infection?)? previous history?, etc.

Hows the invalid? don't give your medication to him cos if he has a reaction you're in deep shit...if he 'choses' to avail himself of one of your pills ...its his responsibility...but that stuff is strong.,, if you are worried its getting bigger go back ...but maybe all the examinations could have exacerbated problem...did they not give an indication of what it was?

Well after a surprisingly restful night (for him) this morning it's no bigger - still VERY painful. I've confined him to bed for the day and will administer painkillers at regular intervals. I think a swig of night nurse helped last night and we avoided use of my pills. Thinking back to what he might have done - he often undoes his shorts and reclines watching tv... I know from personal experience, you can wedge your bits that way. Possibly not helped by falling asleep in front of the telly on Wed night after a few too many drinks in the pub on Wine Wednesday... The urologist kept rattling on about possible infections ... mainly stis but we're not like that - in that we are and have always been a traditional couple... not one of those ones that play with others... (unless boating counts as wife-swapping?). All the googling I've done comes back to infections linked to uti's and that does go along with the fragility of the protective sack around the aforementioned men's bits. Apparently when that is injured, it produces fluid to try and protect itself which then can get infected. After the initial "humour" I found, I now DO feel quite sorry for him - almost to the point of sympathy pains... perhaps mine need a cold pack now too :-)

Regular anti inflammatories and the ice pack seems treatment of choice for now and monitor..plus rest...just remember brufen and similar causes havoc with stomach lining so ensure food with pills and don't let him wash them down with alcohol...he'll regret that.

Internet Trivia. Useful for a pub quiz?:
Popular culture Ghostbusters II In the 1989 film, Egon Spengler (played by the late Harold Ramis) responds to a jibe made by Peter Venkman (Bill Murray) about his female colleagues being attracted to the size of his cranium with "I think they're more interested in my epididymis."

Would a wheelbarrow be any help? Or has the swelling gone down now?
