After I left the boat to go back to Aberdeen for the weekend yesterday, Jeff stayed down and went shopping and bought himself a pet dog for company. Which we have named Woofer, for obvious reasons. Well bloody hell the thing is taking over. Here he is in MY chair eating MY cake and reading CWDF (naughty Woofer!). And here he is in MY hat and MY sunglasses And it gets worse, here he is in MY shirt. It’s the one I went to Buckingham Palace in: And worse still, here he is in MY bed reading one of MY books! He is stealing my identity! Now where is the dog catcher when you need him? Grrrrrr!

I'm not an expert on dog breeds but that looks like a Wooly Woofter to me. I reckon it will fit right in.

Woofer has quite a miserable expression.
I take it he's not a Hudson fan.

Not sure about Aberdeen itself, but Banff, Macduff, Elgin etc. It always amazes me driving around AB seeing cottages which would be worth £500,000 in Surrey which have just been abandoned.

Elgin isn’t in Aberdeenshire! Banff and Macduff are a long way away and different culture. Of course they used to be in Banffshire before it was swallowed up.

Elgin has an amazing monastery...and there are 2 old tatty caravans in the grounds which they allow those at rock bottom to live in whilst they find what life is all about. They befriended and helped one of my sons. Love the area around Elgin.

I may be the only real Aberdeenshire person on Thunderboat, with my grandmother coming from Methlick, and ancestors from (and some still in) Tullynessle (Alford) / New Deer / Peterhead / Turriff. Far from it, looks like there's a few us on here. Portsoy for me.

I've driven the Rosehearty - Banff/Macduff road. That was 5.5 years ago. My second cousin, Rodger Morrison, is chairman of Peterhead Football Club. He's the great-grandson of my great-grandfather's sister, I met him 5.5 years ago near Peterhead. My great-grandfather was the doctor for Methlick - his father seems to have come from the Banff area. Technically/legally I own 19 graves in Abderdeenshire, being a surviving descendant. I think that Aberdeenshire would make a great area for a cycling holiday. I didn't know you were Scottish, Bill. Explains a lot. We could be related.
It's possible, but I'm refusing a DNA test just in case it's positive.
Born in Ellon and brought up in Inverugie.
My wife is a Macleod from Lewis, so she has to be a cousin of Donald John, although she vehemently denies it. I can understand how she feels!
