There are scruffy boats around - many of them! We look at the fibreglass ones and think why can't they just get some cream cleaner and a brush and wash the green algae off their boats? Generally, a tatty-looking boat full of junk on the inside and junk on the roof will not be displaying a current licence. You've seen them, we've seen them, why pretend that their owners are nothing but slovenly gits? Half-sunken boats - where are the owners, what are they doing about it (apparently nothing) and why aren't CRT knocking on their door?

My mate and I have caught and eaten Zanda, eels and American red clawed crayfish.
Very nice too, but he's an excellent cook.

Quenelles de Brochet ....... wasn't that keen but then again apart from salmon, trout and grayling I don't rate freshwater fish very highly

Have to agree.
But it's fun to catch prep, and then he cooks the fish.
I don't bother on my own.
Skinning the eels wasn't really worth the considerable effort, but he cooked them in garlic and they were lovely.

All my boats have licenses Eta oh I see what you mean you are right as none of them have licenses displayed just index numbers which anyone on earth can use to find out of they are licensed if its that interesting !

Pike is delicious, if a tad boney. As is carp. Being freshwater fish both have a slightly earthy taste. Once had pike for Christmas dinner, a maggot drowning friend caught it in the canal. Also, one year, found a roadkill hare just before christmas, that was really yummy.

I've often eaten Pike and reckon it's as good as Salmon. Now back on track, on holiday on the Broads one year Chris said " I reckon we could live on one of these The following year a week before our holiday Chris said " let's sell up and buy a boat I got the Estate Agent in and the place was sold by the time we got home. We then had to find a boat and mooring asap which we managed to do. Then followed week after week of garage sales till we were camping in the house. We then decamped to the Broads where we lived for about 10 years before swapping our cruiser for a NB in the Fens Phil
