That reminds be of a retired builder I met.
The first narrow boat he ever stepped on was the one he bought and moved onto.
He'd sold his business, his house, and him and his wife moved on board.
He said their first winter was a steep learning curve but they survived and thrived.

Rather like the Ausie lass who flew into the country and bought my boat the following day. She too had never been on a boat let alone lived on one. But 3 months on she is still alive so all good. Phil
