Nine months of boating with all the necessary accompaniments ... I think I ought to ease up for 31 days.
In no way was I suggesting anyone else should incur such a penalty.
I'm sure all thunderboaters are paragons of virtue who would never over indulge.
I know I am often ... occasionally ... well sometimes ... alright, alright I need to drop half a stone.

I thought you looked svelte as anything. If it's just a weight thing, then walk to a pub which is further away.
That's a much better resolution.

not sure now how I'll manage a dry October..I enmailed to my architect friend and my other friend whose hubby is building contractor, the survey of the cottage daughter and her hubby claimed would be ok for me....Just to reiterate fact..this place not far from her so I could be there for taking in dogs etc and they would be close should I need... Both friends have real concerns over what needs to be done...theyve decorated to lovely standard but not dealt with underlying issues..it seems roof bowed, concrete tiles to heavy and beams need strengthening and also chimney stack needs work plus damp may have affected wood internally. In additon there is flat roof, plaster lathe ceiling(?) and ? asbestos and no building regs ATM where needed...I just cannot go down the route of all this work again...I'm scared and Ive hit the vino..tied emailing ostritch son who..yep never replied. None will stand up to daughter..up to me I guess... So to-day Ive researched flats to leave and begun packing stuff to store..The one I liked and they hated due to service charge still available and Im going to see it for the 5th time... However this place still not through...I'm in a bad place ATM I feel as if I've made so many mistakes in my life ..one cannot turn back the clock but soldier on

Maybe all the collected brethren on here should give it a go..... I'd like to, trouble is I end up with stock I haven't purchased. mouse has gone home leaving some tramps juice in the fridge. My neighbour has just delivered a crate of beer in return for sorting the sticking rear brakes on their Volkswagen people carrier. Even if I wanted to give up the booze others don't seem to want me to 😂👍🍻

not sure now how I'll manage a dry October......... Patty, how about renting somewhere for a while. I know it prolongs the uncertainty and seems a waste of money, but with the pressure reduced you might start seeing things differently.
An example is me, my alcohol and smoking immediately reduced once I moved into the caravan (a considerable 1k a month saving without any apparent effort from me). You are not me, but I do think we all think clearer without the stress of 'I need to get this right and now' type of mentality.

Sanity seems to be prevailing now though with relationships being rebuilt with a new understanding.

What??!! That's a bottle of good whisky and a packet of fags every day. I suppose a good combination though, the alcohol acts as a thinner and lung cleaner.

an important fact that many fail to realise ...... learning to say "no" can be hard ..... but it's often needed !!!

Only got to reduce it by another 3rd (from the starting point) and I'll be down to what you mention as a 'good combination'! Sometimes life gets a bit shitty.... and sometimes even going for a very very long walk only takes the edge off whilst on the walk, then you get home and the shit starts again. Wish things were different...

Patty, don't replace one horror house with another.
That's not what you want.
Family can be hard, but that is a simple message to pass on.
You're a strong, independent woman and can decide for yourself.
Good luck.

I like Yorkie Bars because they're just the right size and shape to ram up the prostitute's fanny before you murder her. (Just thought I'd say it before Delta did ) Not any more, they're not. They've done the Mars Bars/ Wagon Wheels thing and shrunk considerably.

I love Mr Stabby's naivety. Its a wonderful thing. He believes sweet shops are there to sell lovely sweets to innocent people and children and chocolates to overweight petite ladies. No. . Sweet shops are simply money laundering businesses to clean up drugs cash. Nonsense : any business which involves buying the product to re-sell is really crap for a money laundering operation, as it is difficult to conceal the audit trail, or, more accurately, create one for the laundry sales. Much easier to do the laundering with a car wash business, a nail bar or a tanning salon.
