I dislike the use of bad language. But that doesn't mean I'm right and it should be banned. Let's be honest, sometimes the nonsense spouted by the mischievous can cause some amusement. On occasion when something is posted I really don't like, my strongest sanction is to ignore it. We can all do that ... and the 'troll' is suddenly talking to himself Rog

It's not so much what she posts, but more her two faced attitude/persona between the two forums.Even if there are mental health issues,it shouldn't give someone a 'free pass' to being devious & nasty in what they write. Ah well not bin over so I guess I'm not aware of the full picture...and must admit Ive skimmed the quotes that have been put up here..

I don't like offensive language and try not to use it..occasionally I lapse. I do not like reading it I find it detracts from points being made as I tend to be affected by the language. I do now request that family members cut the f word from their conversation if they over use it.

Would be an interesting experiment. I think cwdf allowing the window of edit to remain open for longer with a mod sending a pm to reconsider the words might also be a good starter towards no moderation at all. How about renaming TB as 'Canal World Digression Forum'? That would confuse some!

Rarely swear in real life. I do sometimes need to rant and explode though and swear words come out then. Sorry to anyone I offend, but better here than 'against myself'. Probably doesn't make sense to most, but does to me.

Sometimes ... just sometimes, ONLY a choice expletive will serve the required purpose.
Those occasions are usually self evident.

Oh yes Rog just the other week instead of using the hammer [which was nowhere to be seen] I used the back of the hatchet! anyway the resulting cuts on my hand produced lots of said words I did feel better afterwards

Just because you're an obnoxious ****, doesn't mean you can use the Get Out of Jail Free mental health Card. Foxy, genuine question, why do you persist in using that word when even on TB most people dont like its use as an offensive insult, is it just because you can? I dont think you use such words in ordinary real life conversation, but I could be wrong? easier just to tell him to grow up. ...................... even schoolboys have grown out of it by the time they hit the 6th form.

I suppose I've been mixing with 'the wrong kind of people' so shall endeavour to ban that word from my posts. Although I find it not offensive at all, and find it as a one syllabyllic word straight to the point, it hammers home with a fierce blow. Welcome to point it out to me if I go astray from the Path of Righteousness. I think it is not necessarily the use of the word but where it has been used. Using it verbally you have hammered home the blow, then it is gone. Writing it down here, or anywhere else, it is there for anyone or everyone to see for ever. I have been known to speak the word but would never write it.
Secondly, several of the members on here, especially the ladies, have been stressing to the neighbours across the cut that there is no longer much bad language in this place. To then aim this word at the chief protagonist seems to a bit of an own goal for the forum. I imagine someone has probably reported back to the other side by now with a big 'told you so'.

Duncan is correct. I have made a note. But it's like meeting people, those that are bizarre can be the funniest to be with.
