Beautiful dayβs boating in the Fens, involving only a little, very thin ice-breaking. Iβm trying to place where you are in that shot - with limited success! River Welland. The Fox knows these things.

To give an extra clue, another view further upstream today, ice free except at very edges. Very ethno-inclusive crew: mongrel Aussie Taipei resident nephew on tiller; US born Taipei resident niece-in-law, and Taiwanese Swedish resident friend.

I'll delete my guess, if you'll delete the quote from my comment. Does that sound fair? Eminently fair. No harm done though, so letβs just leave it.

Back to fluffy, white stuff. We've come up to our boat in Overwater in Cheshire(as planned) as we like Stone Sat' farmers' market which is not too far by car. We're also booked in for a monthly evening meal at the Cafe at Bridge 80 at the marina on Friday.Oh dear,we may be marooooooooned. We will starve to death etc, etc.Mmmmmmm, must check that I have food in the cupboards on my boat.Just checked-we have 4 bottles of red,5 bottles of white,2 bottles of sparkly,9 bottles of beer & 5 bottles of cider. We are safe! π
