Have to confess my focus was on vindictiveness rather than the science 😄

The origin of 'shitting yourself' is to do with a natural instinct to help with the flight or fight response. Designed to make your body ready for the flight or fight. When ever my dog was scared or thought she might get to chase something she would have at least two poo's. A most scientific analysis. 👏 I learnt it when I was getting treatment for severe PTSD, and would shit myself at the slightest unexpected sound, even just the phone ringing or the boiler starting up when I was standing next to it.

Definitely vindictiveness ... a response to his actions, rather than simply a desire to harm 👍🏻
And yes ... Jane makes me a better person ... and I do mean makes 😄

The propeller acts as the rudder. As well as spinning it turns on the vertical axis. Thats a bit simplistic. Have you helmed a Boat with a steerable prop and no rudder? Obviously one gets vectored thrust but its not going to do much other than when the prop is turning. That's just an outboard innit!

Not really. Outboards have a streamlined leg vaguely airfoil shaped which helps with steering. The tug in the picture doesn't. It just has a massive propeller so if that is not turning there is no rudder effect at all.
My little coaching launch with a Honda 10 will steer out of gear to a moderate extent.
I hear the garden gnomes come with umbrellas these days.

Maybe it has got a little rudder forward of the propeller..

Saw Tadworth earlier looking fabulous in full Juel's Fuels livery, and paired with butty Bordesley.
Wasn't Tadworth at one time owned by someone here or on CWDF ?
Anyone recall ?

I pointed out to Jane that on our first trip to London (2010) we saw Tadworth somewhere around MK I think, and it looked quite shabby whereas now it looks fantastic. What was the story on the section 8 do you know ? Rog

Richard (I don't know him personally but said hello in passing) had the Boat on the GU around Ricky and Uxbridge and I think he got into issues around licensing. He also had a 55ft light green ordinary narrow that he seemed to be fitting out. Often seen in MK and there was an air ambulance attendance at one stage.
I must not divulge too much information regarding his security clearance but one thing he did do is keep an interesting historic Boat long enough for someone to pick it up and sympathetically restore it. A lot of nice narrow Boats have been lost by people not doing that.
I recall that Tadworth was at one stage kept in the stinkhole at Harefield to avoid the CRT Boat snatchers.
