It would be so much more satisfactory if CRT were authorised to shoot people they don't like on sight.
No messing about. Get the guns and go in and sort it.
No more pisstakers.

So yet again I ask you, this means it's okay for cart to act outside of the law does it? I don't know what the law is so I can't really comment on whether CRT are acting within it or outside it, although I'd be surprised if there wasn't a by-law covering non-conventional vessels such as this. They are making it up as they are going along. If they have just cause to remove this vessal, I have no problem with that. As long as they do it using the legal powers that they have. As soon as we have a navigation authority that thinks it can do as it pleases then that spells trouble for all of us.

I find loddon's posts to be quite sane. Yes but then your not a great authority on sanity. Or compassion ? - made much of another poor person on the Shroppie near Nantwich with photos etc …. I seem to remember..?

I don't know what the law is so I can't really comment on whether CRT are acting within it or outside it, although I'd be surprised if there wasn't a by-law covering non-conventional vessels such as this. The BWB General Canal Bye-laws do cover the 'fitness' of vessels to be on the waterway they're intended for use on in Bye-law 3), and the same requirement is re-iterated in clause 7.3 of C&RT's Licence T&C's, but termination or refusal of a boat Licence is NOT prescribed, in law, as a sanction for non-compliance with either one of them. General Canal Bye-laws 9) and 28) do, however, demand that vessels are crewed adequately and competently, that they are moored properly with head and stern ropes, and when moored are secured as close alongside the bank as is practicable. After your tying-up performance of yesterday, would you now think it fair and reasonable that C&RT now terminate your boat Licence and demand that, on pain of having it seized and put into storage, you remove your boat from all the waterways under their control ?

Your constant sneering and sniping would carry a lot more weight if you ever actually moved your boat. Still, not to worry, you won't have it much longer.

I wouldn't fancy helming the caravan boat near bridges as it looks as though even a little bit of wind sheer from a tall building would move it and present a significant collision risk.
Definitely one for a girlie button me thinks.
Eta maybe if it has a suitably large outboard you could get enough way on to counter the wind effect but I find it doubtful.
I bet its a real handful and forward visibility is going to be non existent.

But that doesn't give cart the right to just arbitrarily decide revoke its liscence.
