NigelMooreIf someone did do a case about it would crt be obliged to rebuild to statute dimensions? I know there are one or two DBA members who would have been interested but one at least has evacuated to France as he was becoming disillusioned with the state of UK wide beam (14'+) waterways. Provably with good reason. Whether anyone else is up for a challenge remains to be seen but its definitely a pretty dodgy situation and a worrying precedent. When a friend of mine was having his own barge hull built he asked me what beam I just said 12'6 that way you are pretty safe and any time- or works- related alterations to the maximum beam of a waterway are less likely to cause a problem. Being realistic.

NigelMoore If someone did do a case about it would crt be obliged to rebuild to statute dimensions? If successful, the suit would result in a court order to rectify the problem.

Like I've mentioned previously, magnet man is a bullshit merchant, tells more stories than jackanory.Β He will still argue that it was something behind the gates and the boater had left his fenders down. I was jus going on what the MI6 girls down at Melksham told me about it. There was something behind one of the gates. I misheard it I thought they said there was a cricket bat and it stopped the gate opening. Having checked my recording of the meeting it turns out she said there was a "bloated rat" behind the gate so obviously this will have burst and not been a problem for the boat.

Probably a bit beyond your brain cell, but this issue is actually quite a serious one. The fact we have idiots like yourself undermining such issues leaves little wonder that CRT can so easily get away with crap like this. I do wish we could get idiots like yourself off our waterways.

I'd go along with this from Nigel's post:
"The information provided by the Assets Management department of BW records the minimum breadth in 2009 for the Tyle Mill (lock 99) to Bath section, as 4.20 mtrs (at lock 41). That should be the minimum standard that since 2011 must be legally maintained throughout that section."
It really is that simple.
The question is, of course, who made the lock end too narrow? And why?

Did you bother to read my response to Nigel's post? I am constantly amazed by how you seem to think that one person on a small internet forum who is not a member of any associations could have any influence whatsoever on policy. Why is it that you think this! Is it because you have some sort of overinflated view of your own importance so assume everyone else has the same problem you seem to suffer from? I do wonder. Either that or nick was right you are a bot. Personally I know my own opinion is worthless and I don't have a problem with that. I'm not here to fix anything. I don't know really. Eta and for the record it is "you" not "yourself". And yes I do wish we could get rid of idiots like you from "our waterways" as well . It takes all sorts of idiots to make a big picture.

I'm not necessarily pointing at your reply to nigel, I'm making a general appraisal of your replies on much of the CRT stuff on here. I'm not an iwa supporter as a rule, but if their ideas got rid of people like you in London, the waterways would be a much simpler place for the rest of us who actually care about them. You could always piss off to France and be even more anonymous, go on, do the UK canals a favour.

IWA policy would keep me here funny you bring that up. In fact if IWA had their way there would be far more paid for moorings and less squatters about which would probably result in my mooring fees being less which would be a Good Thing as far as I'm concerned. You are definitely confusing me with someone else. Maybe someone on Facebook? I don't ever post on Facebook so there's a clue for you. Its not me As for being anonymous errr I don't think so !! If you want to get into trading insults and assuming things about people then I'll reciprocate. You are a parasite taking advantage of cheap living on canals while its easy while renting your house out. You don't give a shit about the long term viability of inland waterways. As soon as it gets rough you'll be gone with your boat on brokerage. There we are tell me I'm wrong Fuck off and get a motorsailer ?

Well you seem to fantasise self importance by stating MI6 in many of your posts. At the end of the day have you done anything to improve the reality of situations like the OP? Or are you just another keyboard warrior?

Constantly crapping yourself that somebody who cares about the waterways will rock the boat, and put you in a position where you will actually have to get up and physically do something to save the way of life many of us look to protect. I don't see you doing that if I'm honest, you're far too busy blubbing crap on the internet. You're just another freeloading London pimp.

Edit to add I really thought everyone reading would have worked out the MI5/6/7 thing was a joke. If anyone took it seriously please accept my apologies and condolences.

Deleted as its pointless to engage. Your deleted post was not pointless MM. In a world which still tics on money, I guess our financial contributions do attempt to help satisfy guilt. Personally, I find the more money is involved, the more f#%ked up things get. However itβs those who put thier life on the line who really change things for the better . Iβm nowhere on that scale but Iβm ever more aware that you canβt change things just by throwing money at a problem or posting views on an internet forum (or second hand crap from social media).

Just write fucked rather than f#%ked ffs. So what you are suggesting is we need people who chain themselves to lock gates then when a big boat breasts the gates open they get their limbs ripped off and die in pain. All to save the wonderful canals everyone holds so dear to their heart. Or a suicide squad going to the crt offices? What the hell do you mean by "put their life on the line" in this context ? Eta and if you thought I was posting on a forum and paying crt loads of money in order to change things then you are mistaken.
