We would like to say a big thank you to the Wigan Flight crew; Peter, Joe, Paul and Joanne. They helped us up the flight and then, when we unexpectedly had to turn round and descend the flight, following a family bereavement, they went well out of their way to help us. What a great team! Such kind and helpful people. Wigan are lucky to have them.

But no, people who want to use them, presumably because they are single handing, infirm, or don’t like doing locks, are lucky to have them. People who enjoy doing locks resent having them if they interfere and suck the fun out of it. I do struggle to understand why able bodied people regard locks as some sort of chore, but I guess it takes all sorts. Anyway, you are probably a leyther sock puppet.

That is the 3rd sock puppet allegation you have made about new members in recent days - are you trying to outdo Foxy?

No. But why would anyone join to make that first post if they didn’t have an agenda? Anyway, one was a wrong assumption, one was a right assumption, one still to be determined. Which is why I said “probably”.

Welcome to the premier boating, tree climbing, moped riding and abuse hurling site on the net timeout. Sorry for your loss. You may or may not know that the Wigan flight crew are not universally popular here, but in my view it's right to 'speak as you find'. I'm glad you received the help you needed. Rog

I imagine they were asked to join and put in a good word. I don't see a problem with that as it seems in the circumstances they were very well served?

Some people are so naive! Some people don't have a hissy fit and 'go off on one' when someone tells them they're not in charge. Proof we're all different Rog

And the people who don’t have a hissy fit in the presence of officious and control-freaky volockies are contributing to the problem. Which is bad. Very bad. (As POTUS would say).

But you have described your bad experience, quite rightly ... aren't others free to describe their positive experience if that's what they had ?
The fact that many have no complaint regarding volockies, indeed are very positive about their interactions DOES NOT diminish your bad experience ... it's not an attack on your description of what occured.
And you were right to bring it to the attention of C&RT in the hope that the positive performances become the norm.
My 'hissy fit' comment was merely a rejoinder to your 'naive' comment.

Rog As I’ve said on your other thread, of course they are entitled to present their own good experience. You only have to look at the Wigan Flight Crew Fartbook page to see that they have plenty of sycophantic admirers. But when they said “Wigan is lucky to have them” that is an implication that we should all revere them and is thus a direct rebuttal of my opinion of them. Because I think Wigan is unlucky to have the out-of-control officious control-freak feral bunch of lock-flight-annexers who get all stroppy if you don’t worship them. They should speak for themselves, not for others.
