@gazza ... nothing has changed other than our awareness of physical damage. Some players (great players too) have had their careers cut short by injuries (Harry Ellis , James Simpson-Daniels etc) long before the head injury protocols became prevalent. The physical nature of the game has always risen incrementally ... all the players getting bigger, stronger and fitter as the game progressed beyond professionalism ... and yet Cobus Rheinach, Faf de Klerk and Harry Randall, with many others, perform at a high level despite being little fellas. Everybody is getting fitter, and stronger as you would expect from full time players ... but size remains relevant to ability ... a good little 'un will run rings around a giant... Cheslin Kolbe for example Talent beats brawn. Rog Iβm not disagreeing with any of that - itβs the DOR and Coaches that have drive the game in this direction. one B Moore laments the fact the game is no longer for all shapes and sizes, power and bulk dominating most squads these days.

This is a thread about association football.
Will you egg-chasers kindly fuck off back to your own thread?
Thank you.

I suppose all sports aim for the highest possible standards. Always progressing, looking for an advantage, should that be through sports science, diet, tactics or whatever. Perhaps rugby isn't suited to this. The highly physical nature of the game might make this dangerous. The natural progression for rugby is body armour, American football style. The question is: considering the amateur game from not so long ago where brawn was a factor but skill was important too; vs. a load of blokes honed to within an inch of their lives, all armoured up because to not do so would be reckless.... which is the better game?

At the same time I feel a bit sorry for Ukraine. I had a girlfriend from there when I lived in Poland. Although she looked more like a Russian shot putter than the beauties the camera person this evening regularly perved on she was a nice girl, and cou'e ld drink a hell of a lot of vodka. Hollywood is obviously missing a heart throb as far as your're concerned by your descriptions of females.π€Must admit I didn't spot this when we met up north a good few years ago...

No, I tend not to try to punch above my weight, preferring the numbers game.

I had a Ukrainian girlfriend for about a year. At first there was a bit of a language barrier but by the end I was quite familiar with the Ukrainian tongue.

What a game. I don't think I've seen two such great performances in succession from England.
People still doubt that we are contenders. And normally I'd agree Iver the years we've become used to seeing the odd great performance followed by a collapse against a lesser team.
I think(hope) that its different this year as this squad looks good with no pre Madonnas.
I think this team wants to win where as teams of before thought they were entitled to win.

England are certainly tough to beat. I just wonder whether that would be enough against Italy who have pace and creativity throughout the team.

Are Denmark a particularly good team ? Not one of the top nations I wouldn't have thought, and with confidence and momentum on their side perhaps thebfg is right and England could reach the final Rog
