Barges spoil the view. Can't see the signature, R Parry perchance?

Clearly rather dim. Hasn’t realised why the canal is there is the first place. As for the complaint about putting waste food into the cut, I think we should report him to the RSPCA - what are the poor fishies supposed to live on?

Where is the evidence that the writer is a "him"?

Barges spoil the view. Can't see the signature, R Parry perchance? If that's a recent newspaper, it could be that some or all of those boats are there because of the two long term stoppages -- Gargrave and the culvert near Church. If so, it might be an opportunity to stir up some adverse publicity for the crap job that Parry & Co. are doing.

I really get the hump with "are people allowed to live in barges? ", what a twat. I try to keep my "barge" looking reasonably tidy, just as I did when on land, and I would avoid mooring next to some that I see, but if the writer wants to rant about a particular area, presumably he can take a walk nearer his own house, and stop ranting about the free access he gets from the 2000 miles of potential recreation provided free by the CRT 🐦

. . . // . . . from the 2000 miles of potential recreation provided free by the CRT . . . out of the pockets of taxpayers, and boat Licence holders.

Ah right, after living in the area for umpteen decades, I hadn't realised that that stretch was used to accommodate all the stranded boaters due to unscheduled stoppages, I always thought it was popular due to its location and surrounding facilities. 🤷🏻♂️ You're right, he's obviously a twat that Parry bloke!🙄

The point I'm making, and that you are missing, is that through its planned neglect, and consequent frequent extensive closures, of the L&L and every other canal in its destructive clutches, the C&RT has placed itself in a position from where it cannot legitimately enforce any rules concerning boat movement or duration of stays at any location.

Perhaps everyone paying 'their dues' would help with repairs.
