The real pandemic here is the media. Media control is incredibly powerful. More powerful than a lot of people realise. As I've said before, if it wasn't for the media no-one would even know there was a "pandemic". No-one knew there was a "pandemic" in 1918 ..... but it still killed a lot of people even without the name

I'm pretty sure the word "pandemic" has to be applied in order to release funding.
Similar to when there is a storm in the USA and they issue a "state of emergency".
Without putting the label on it you can't get the funding.

The real pandemic here is the media. Media control is incredibly powerful. More powerful than a lot of people realise. As I've said before, if it wasn't for the media no-one would even know there was a "pandemic". Posters here sneer at what others read on social media, but all "social media" means is "What ordinary people are saying". It is indeed amazing how malleable people become if you expose them to manufactured fear and then offer to lead them to safety. It seems that many people do not like to form their own opinions and feel more secure if decisions are taken for them to blindly follow. I have no dog in this fight Vince but your post intrigued me ... I am not convinced but neither am I trying to convince you. I had my two jabs, and subsequently had my booster, and a flu jab, and a pneumonia jab because my GP practice sent me texts assuring me it was right to do so ... more injections I think in the last year than I've had in my life before ! Jane and I will need a lot of convincing before going for any more. I worked as usual at this time, but had to wear a mask . If I go in shops, cafes or pubs I wear a mask if requested (signs at the door) and very happy not to if not ... simply polite to comply with their request. My life goes on with the only real change being covid testing twice a week ... but doing that only so that I can continue to keep close contact with my sister who is undergoing treatment. I took my brother in law to the very large local hospital yesterday, and on arrival saw patients outside smoking as usual ... the Costa Coffee cafe in the foyer open as usual ... the ground floor retail outlets open for business as usual... and all available provided you put on a mask ... I could wait in the hospital, at Costa's if I wished, but not on the department. I take no medications, am not obese, work at my general fitness, and feel I am pretty healthy so on a personal level I am not concerned about the circulating illnesses (Nova virus, flu, colds etc. plus covid) I don't follow social media other than this forum, but I find it utterly impossible to discover what exactly is the truth. Statistics and figures change subject to their source ... medics appear to be contradicting each other, and some of the rules appear wildly ridiculous (e.g. mask on stood up, mask off sat down) If I'm honest, I'm beginning to be weary of both sides ... the cynics and the evangelists ... and no longer have any clue what the truth is. I guess like others, I'll simply continue to make my own decisions based on how things impact on me and my family and hope for the best. I am beginning to believe that underfunding for the last ten years ( minimum ) has more to do with the NHS 's staffing issues, and crisis than perhaps covid currently has, but I REALLY don't know. It seems that many people do not like to form their own opinions and feel more secure if decisions are taken for them to blindly follow. It is odd. Another thing I find slightly distasteful in all of this is that the country has been run by unelected people. Follow the science. Nobody ever voted for these people. This seems to be an interesting ongoing theme. The illusion of having a democratic choice but it's just that. An illusion. So many prime ministers recently have started their terms as a default replacement rather than being voted in. It seems wrong. This sort of thing has been going on for a while. The most obvious application of politicians being led by the science is probably Hiroshima; good for the American PBI, good for limiting increasing Soviet influence, but obviously fairly catastrophic for quite a few Japanese. I'm struggling to think of a really good example of an earlier instance of the sort but maybe fitting the entire British fleet with copper sheathing counts. Or maybe the efforts of John Snow (1813 - 1858) is a better example.

JVT for PM? It would be quite interesting to see how many people would vote for him.
He got right into people's front rooms and has got good presentation, been awarded a knight hood for doing his job etc.
Might make a good replacement for the blonde geyser.

The problem might be if too many catch it at once and are all off sick at the same time You keep repeating the same old nonsense about this... and using the term 'medical experts' to lend 'weight' to your argument... these would be the people who don't want to speak out or rock the boat, as their salaries (and knighthoods!) depend on going along with the circus. 22 months of this Covid nonsense and I know of not one person who has had 'Covid'. I do not think we are all going to be "off sick at the same time". I'm off to our village food shop now, with no face mask. And before you say "Finland is sparsely populated", the 'Government' claims this is a 'high-risk area' for Covid. What a load of rubbish. The aim of the 'Covid' scare is to control people by psychological means (fear of a virus and fear of social disapproval) and physically (borders effectively closed / travel made much harder), and to rip them off at the same time by making them pay for 'tests' and 'vaccines'. So you keep saying. Some of us disagree. No need for derision, insults, or name calling. The picture is confused and unclear whether deliberately or not, and none of us are experts, so merely coming to our own conclusions based on our local view. Rog

Interesting the way this unvax quack turned up so prominently in the news.
A gradual move towards something other than full control, perhaps.
It has been an interesting experiment.
After a while people start to work it out and you do have to be careful about situations occurring when large groups are involved. Very careful.

Do I put a mask on when shopping ? Yes it's the regulation. You can declare yourself exempt from the need to wear a face mask: (Government's own site!) "If you have an age, health or disability reason for not wearing a face covering: you do not routinely need to show any written evidence of this you do not need to show an exemption card This means that you do not need to seek advice or request a letter from a medical professional about your reason for not wearing a face covering. However, some people may feel more comfortable showing something that says they do not have to wear a face covering. This could be in the form of an exemption card, badge or even a home-made sign. Carrying an exemption card or badge is a personal choice and is not required by law."
www.gov.uk/government/publications/face-coverings-when-to-wear-one-and-how-to-make-your-own/face-coverings-when-to-wear-one-and-how-to-make-your-ownYes but IF it came down to it you would have to prove the exemption. For example if you were doing shopping and the coppers came in to buy something* and one of them took exception to you for some reason they could interfere with you verbally and you be obliged to provide proof that you were in fact legally exempt. Unlikely situation but there is a law behind it all. *For example some food

Nobody needs to 'prove' an exemption - you can just say that wearing a face mask causes me distress - by law, people are not allowed to ask you what your 'disability' is. Yes but IF it came down to it you would have to prove the exemption. Nobody needs to 'prove' an exemption - you can just say that wearing a face mask causes me distress - by law, people are not allowed to ask you what your 'disability' is. Not all disabilities are hidden: Not on the spot you don't but I suspect the framework exists whereby IF you were challenged by a copper or similar authority based figure with legal backup it would go to law and you would need to prove why you are exempt. The exemption is available for a good reason. Saying that you can just make it up is too simplistic. Yes you can, at the time. If it went further then it could get quite technical.
