It will be but a short time until all boat movements are banned because of damage to wildlife 😱

Yup that sounds about right ..... I think they should ban all motorised road transport to prevent furry animals getting squashed

I don’t really see how they could be killing fish? The only things I can think of is maybe a shock wave or disturbing pollutants that are in the sludge on the bottom of the waterway. But neither of these seem feasible.

Thanks ... I am always reluctant to click on unknown links Rog If you read the link you can see that it’s from canal and river trust. org for all there faults I don’t think crt spread malware.

It sounds like crap from the maggot drowners
The "Pride" only stopped running during CRT's wonderful speedy repair of the A&C
It's been up and down there for years
Only Farndale H and Fusedale H have been added to the number of big barges running on Northern waters recently
Remember there are some very big barges in private ownership running up and down that area aa well
(Easedale H, Maureen Eva, Freda Carless just as examples off the top of my head ... there are plenty more)
So they are saying that just two more barges are causing hundreds of fish to die? ...... yeah !!!

This from the Yorkshire Post;
I saw some photos of decapitated fish floating in Pollington Lock on a Doncaster fishing group FB page a couple of weeks ago but I can't find it now. Some of the comments said it was propellors causing it, others said it could be mink, which do seem to take the heads of fish and leave the bodies.

The basic problem is that Canal and River Trust don't like boats

But neither of these seem feasible. I chopped a fish clean in half with my propeller once. It did look a bit shocked as it flew out of the water and described a majestic arc. Well, at least the front half of it did.

Well that’s more informative that crt’s press release.

Just CRT blaming others for lack of maintenance. No dredging, no water level monitoring and no maintenance. The fish are being starved of oxygen because the water level is so low. boats are stirring up silt that's not been dredged for 30-40 years. As has already been suggested, private boat owner's will be the next target. Useless organisation set only on stuffing their private pockets and pension pots with cash.
