If you had a vehicle suitable to tow it, that is a heck of a bargain ....... They say the scrap value is 4k but I reckon including gear and the trailer it would break to much more than that. There has obviously been quite a lot of water in her but it doesn't look as if it has been above (or much above) the floor. Providing there is no major hull problems and the flooding was skin fittings/prop shaft/engine cooling system I reckon that could make a smashing project !!! It would definately make a very handy trailer sailer for one or two people with a bit of work.

Its a cool boat. Nice to see a wing engine on there!
And pinioned masts I assume means geared raising mechanism?
Very nice boat which would go to a lot of places comfortably.

This is the boat I have been dreaming of. rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F163663686624A nackered rowing training boat. GRP so its not a rotomoulded plastic pos. What a lovely base for a conversion to a decent durable fast electric launch with space for a couple of passengers. A cross between a dinghy and a canoe. Its wicked. I want it. Recaro seats, big brushless motor, lithium batteries and 3 lace parasols on order. Anyway so its boat no. 10 for the fleet. £27. I did manhandle it last week and it seemed like a nice bit of kit. Going to collect it on Monday. Its going to be a lovely boat to irritate overly wealthy knobs on the Thames with. Once the electric install is done and all of the reclaimed teak deck and floor and the Lloyd loom chairs are in place should be good to go.

Will do. Hoping to collect it tomorrow if seller gets back to me.
The best approach is probably a 24v Minn Kota pod mounted in a vertical tube behind the cockpit area with some sort of 180 degree steering arrangement for manoooverability.
And plenty of cheap lead acid car batteries. And a couple of solar panels on the back deck area.
The lithium battery thing is too costly at the moment.
Did wonder about a Toyota Prius battery as they used NiMh which are good batteries but 144v made up of 7.2v cells is a bit scary in terms of dismantling it safely.

Its wicked. Could be motored, pedalled, rowed, canoed I can even stand in it and punt it. You just have to breathe on it and it wants to be moving. Great item. Could easily enough sail it plus the cockpit area is big enough for a bed easily. Love it. It just wants to be going along. And its GRP moulding with airtight compartments. Seriously wicked bit of kit. Atlantic crossing next spring me thinks. About 18ft x 2ft6 and being grp very smooth so will be easily to propel. Light as well I can lift it quote easily not sure about car top but its not heavy. The only issue I can see if it is made electric is going to be falling asleep going along. Needs a sleep alarm if there is such a device. .

Well it turns out it is perfectly easy to propel with a kayak paddle. I used one I found in the river which is admittedly too short but it didn't seem to stop me spending the last 6 hours in the thing paddling up and down getting accustomed to it. Its amazing. At the back of the cockpit area there is a seat moulded into the GRP. I put an old bit of covered foam from the yot on it and it became very very comfortable. I will do a sensitive and removesble stealth electric on the transom but not going to cut holes in the boat. Only £27 but it is a seriously nice bit of hardware which deserves respect. Wicked It does have a very small transom but its rather delicate and nicely formed so I will have to be careful when mounting the pod drive. Planning to bolt a piece of hardwood to it to reinforce the grp and clamp the minn kota shaft on with hydraulic pipe clamps to minimise visual disturbance. Will Fix the shaft to go straight and use a kayak paddle for steering Minn kota are usually hand operated outboards but it's easy to get the ugly bit off the top and move the speed control to seating position using a PWM controller. This leaves a simple 1 1/8 inch carbon fibre or stainless steel shaft needing mounting which is pretty easy. Not keen to cut into the hull because it is such a nice boat so the brushless motor inboard is not an option at this stage despite that being the Rolls Royce solution.

I've chosen a name for it.
Impeccable.
I had thought to call it "scum" as that would be a good boat name but have been advised they it may offend.

Yes but Rolls Royce marine diesels aren't particularly good. Gardner's is the Rolls Royce of marine engines. i think they would be eagle series engines? which a are good in big gennies and I would have thought boats? big enough to move that boat along at a fair pace
