Either that or he could chop his legs off at the knees. Sometimes you need a bit more time to come with an easy- and most effective solution to what would have been a real problem for most other people, it's almost too simple to think about it, maybe you're a genius. You should start advertising in boating magazines, "If you're fed up with bending over to avoid hitting your head on your boat, I have a cheaper solution for you, no steel cutting or welding involved". That may supply you with the funds to buy the boats that we can only look at now. Peter. Thats a really good idea Peter, i am in need of earning some money again. Ive got an old boat to support.

Yes i like that, but im not sure which canal the owner thinks it can be used on? Bridge clearance of 6ft2 and a draft of 3ft4. Wouldn't be a boat for young andrew, as there a painful lack of forward visibility . Peter. Looks ok to me as wheelhouse is well forward. And I think there is headroom in the wheelhouse and accomodation area. The picture of the bloke inside it shows some space above his head. He might be short but possibly not. Looks to be good construction. Two skegs and little centre keel so the boat would sit flat when beached. Skegs bolted on so removable for rudder works. Two cranes is pretty cool. Nice fine entry on the bows it looks like it would go well and not be greedy. Handed engines (probably just running one of the PRM Delta's in "reverse") which look clean as a whistle. Belt and braces boat that one. Hard as nails. Yes 3ft6 is a bit deep for the cut in some places. 6ft2 air draft is slightly difficult to believe but some of these boats are pretty low being fair. I'll have a word with the MI6 admin ladies see if they can get it for me on expenses. Would be quite a useful platform for investigative work. Two cranes. Wow. That's so manly. Its not for girls ! 10ft6 base to top might be too high for road transport.

I dont think id want a hand start only engine again. Its good to have as an alternative, if the starter motor breaks. I think the guy who owns misterton is a cwdf member.

Friend of mine runs a JP3 with a dynastart. Seems to be OK saves a bit of work.
Another approach might a friction starter on the flywheel.

I quite like this apolloduck.net/61060532x10ft Steel Twin BMC 1.8 Accomodation cabin £12k Looks nice and "Boaty". I specially like the lifeboat style forward cabin. It seems to have underwater exhausts on keel cooled engines. Intriguing piece of hardware. I reckon the exhausts come out in those holes above the rudders. Looked at other photos can not see any sign of dry stacks. ETA I've figured out that the exhausts go through the radar arch tubing with vents at the top and when that is folded down the cantilever part which had been horizontal forms an extended dry stack. Clever bit of work and the radar arch/derrick arrangement is counterweighted by heavy duty springs to make it easy to push it up and down. Whoever put that boat together did some serious thinking about it... Boat no.13. hmm.
