Looks like crt are paying overtime today, they’ve insisted the boat has got to go today. Sounds like the police have some understanding though. They are saying they don’t have authority to remove him as he hasn’t done anything unlawful. ( well done the officer in charge.) so as long as George doesn’t threaten anyone including himself, then it should be okay. It sounds like crt are trying to get the police to remove him but they are refusing.

Whatever happens, I hope the filth act legally and by doing so give crt a direct kick in the nuts for taking the piss.

George has done better than Tony managed already, although it looks like he has got some friends.

Could Tony have been right that Sec 8 notice doesn't allow physical removal of occupant and seizure of boat?.................
Well all over for today...

Could Tony have been right that Sec 8 notice doesn't allow physical removal of occupant and seizure of boat?................. some of what Tony says is correct, it’s just the way he says it gets peoples backs up. If he had got a different police officer to attend his eviction it could have been different. Mind you Tony hasn’t gotten the balls or the strength of mind to stay locked in the boat and not interact with them.

So the police and crt have fucked off, well done George. See Tony that’s how it’s done. You need the press to be there if you want the police to do their job. The standoff has lasted all day but appears to be over - for now - with eviction-threatened boater George Ward keeping his boats on the canal in Bradford on Avon.
The police - one of them armed - are leaving, along with Canal and River Trust staff and security.
Matthew Aymes, of CRT, says they have “one more” option to explore that will help George and that “it’s up to him to make the most of it”.

Which is outrageous of course. As we all know, you never make any assumptions about anyone else. You saint you! My hero xxxxx Good to know. Although I’m not worthy. Well it certainly seems you struggle to comprehend written English. When it suits you.

Getting the police to except that he hasn’t done anything unlawful so they don’t have authority to remove him, is a major victory.( it needed an enlightened police officer to be fair.) But it’s a victory for all boaters. If only Tony hadn’t blown his chance to beat crt in court. I bet Mathew aymes is not a happy chap this evening.

It'll be interesting to see what the 'option to explore' is.
I wonder where this will go? It seems to have the potential for a 'landmark' incident. Good for George.

5:47pm 'IT'S NOT OVER YET'
A significant development just in - George has agreed to move from his current mooring and could leave Wiltshire for a new home 200 miles away.
The boating community are hoping to tow his boat through the canal lock at Bradford on Avon to a new mooring further up the canal to near the Airsprung factory on the Canal Road industrial estate in Trowbridge.
They have been told to contact the CRT on Thursday with an update. Leading member of the local canal community Laura Darling said: “It’s not over yet”.
George said: “I am having to give in to their unlawful demands and I’ll organise removing the boat from their waterways.
“I’m going to move the boat to the Lincoln Brayford Pool where the mooring is owned by Lincoln City Council and out of the CRT waterways.
“They had no lawful order to move my boat and no warrant to enter or possession order. It was an attempt at unlawful eviction without the correct court orders and due process.”
