I suppose that sense of superiority that never leaves the person, is what you pay for in a private education. True. Although of course I get my sense of superiority from the fact that I am superior, not because of the school I went to 50 years ago. Well, let’s face it, it isn’t hard to be superior to the famous 5 on here. Most of the rest of the 8 billion are too.

LTO is the Way To Go. One day everyone will know. Yo! Hellishly expensive on the Bimble webshite. I know you like your LTOs but their main advantage - super-rapid charging - isn’t really a significant advantage for boating. And their main disadvantage, apart from cost, is that the cell voltage doesn’t easily fit in with 12v boat electrics 5 cells is not enough and 6 cells is too much. OK for 24v systems though. And the voltage profile is much less flat than LiFePO4. LTO voltage profile is perfect for an inverter. Cutoff around 11.5v and cutoff around 15.8v. Uses the discharge curve very nicely. Also I admit my main use is with a 12v trolling motor and these can be overvolted to 15 or 16v without brush damage so it works very nicely plus one can feel the discharge curve which is a pleasant experience. My main interest these days is small electric boats.

I suppose that sense of superiority that never leaves the person, is what you pay for in a private education. Its an interesting question. I went to a very expensive private school but I'm pretty sure I was superior to that well before this. In fact at my Steiner school which I went to from 6 until 10 yars old they identified me as 'incarnated' and did not know what to do about it due to the excess personal energy. I've always had a halo. It is a hard cross to bear. Also being influenced by a mother who was from a proper upper class background doesn't help ! Somewhere deep inside there is this overwhelming feeling that other people might be alright despite what Sartre wrote.

It's days like this that make me feel almost sad that Tony and Ross stopped posting. For all their foibles at least you could say they where consistent.
