The changes did 'ambush' some ladies ... no doubt poor communication of the changes was the main problem.
I'm not confident the Conservatives will step-up and actively implement the reports compensation recommendation, and I fear this issue could get 'kicked down the street' until post the election.
We shall see.
The recommendations are being 'considered'.

Compensation for the many millions of men who in the past had to work 5 years longer than women is due!

The pension changes may have been necessary and the right thing to do, but the affected individuals should have had personal notification to allow them to plan accordingly.
As with many government changes, the implementation was poor hence the report recommendations.
The danger is I fear, the Tories will fudge it and once Labour win the election, they'll be able to just blame the previous government and bin it too.
We shall see.

As I understand it the changes were brought forward such that women approaching 60 who had good reason to believe that they would be receiving the state pension from age 60 were unexpectedly given the news that they would not be. I think anybody running a marathon should have a reasonable expectation that the finishing tape will not be moved five miles further back as they approach it.

No its alright. I'm in the market for a woman in her 25s with good money at this stage. The Boat is alright needs a name change and the bikes are to die for but it still doesn't cut the mustard. I think he could get a good woman but he clearly doesn't want to. 3 Maybe quaysider would be interested. God I Miss Quaysider.
