but haven't been for a good few years now (although seeing salmon in the Ouse, was tempted to have a go when it was dark)

errrmmm according to the UNDP 2021 report 90% of countries have falling living standards very few have a rising standard and they are not the major countries (Moldovia for example is one) was talking about the major countries in Europe not the extended European Union. so was I kris ..... I don't think you understand , everybody with only one or two exceptions are experiencing falling living standards in 2022 (and those exceptions do not include major western nations)https://www.oecd.org/economic-outlook/

I knew my poleaxes weren't just for scaring other boaters ! When do we start ? A week on weds, 3.30 in the afternoon. I think it will be the disaffected youth that start it. Itβs looking like the post war prosperity bubble has burst, the days of increasing standards of living are gone. This is one of the few countries in Europe where the standard of living has started falling. errrmmm according to the UNDP 2021 report 90% of countries have falling living standards very few have a rising standard and they are not the major countries (Moldovia for example is one)

there is not much that comes out of the Russian invasion of Ukraine that is amusing ..... but I was just watching something when it was pointed out that the letter Z that they love to paint on their tanks must be a signal to Ukranian farmers (The letter Z in International flag signalling is "I require a tow" and incidentally their other favourite letter "V" means "I require assistance")

Oh yes those poor 45% income tax payers must be having such a hard time. It must be awful only having 2 grand a week to live on. Throw them a lifeline ! Nothing to do with the point I was making, but never mind. π. generally I believe in keeping taxes fairly low .... but
I have heard theorists agreeing with the ideas and certainly methods used in the past never seemed to help very much
so maybe .... I bloody hope so anyway
I expected things to be rough for a couple of years after Brexit because it was obvious that the French could be guaranteed to be pissy
but then there was Covid and now that bloody man has made it an effing hattrick
you couldn't write the script

I believe many people have a lot of respect for Princess Anne - truly her mother's daughter - with a bit of the Duke to add fire. She was amazing in accompanying the Queen's body from Balmoral to the very bitter end. and all the time in Scotland as well

unless you live in the boondocks* with a lot of overhead cables ..... 'cos then you charge the battery until it is full, continue to use solar when available and export any surplus. Sun not shining draw ftom grid and hang onto the battery full for when the inevitable powercut occurs.
* or in some country with an undeveloped or poor distribution system that suffers from frequent "brownouts" or blackouts .... thing is the control system is quite likely designed with that scenario in mind because more of the world is like that.
But surely the installers should have realised they were in Nuneaton? Sorry, my mistake ....... I thought Nuneaton was the boondocks

Are they not just set so that they make take in whatβs available and then power your house with any excess sold back to your main supplier? Yes, should be quite simple really, sun is shining, solar panels power domestic electricity, charge battery and excess is exported, sun isn't shining power is drawn from battery until depleted whereupon electricity comes from grid. unless you live in the boondocks* with a lot of overhead cables ..... 'cos then you charge the battery until it is full, continue to use solar when available and export any surplus. Well the central heating system held together overnight
Today I need to try and put the bomb site, that the boat has turned into, back together again.
I need to get started on the whispergen part of the system as well but I think I need a break for a day or so.
There is a possibility that there will be another load of wood to collect this weekend so it might be next week before I get started again.
Where the hell has this year gone ?
