I looked at that but we don't have the "depth" to fit it in... we're going to struggle with the inlander at 540... and that's AFTER I've cut away the lining and some spray foam. Shame really, as it is a bit bigger for not much extra.

Yeah I think we do - ... Andy works for Sainsbugs and brings home a lot of "yellow sticker" things for buttons that our freezers (note we currently have 2) are always full of nice things to eat... remember - if ever YOU get something with a yellow sticker on that's due to explode shortly... the WHOLE shop staff have already turned their nose up at it

Argos do a little under counter (85cm high) fridge freezer with separate freezer door for only £120, plenty of reviews to check out: www.argos.co.uk/product/4871314Small 'footprint' too at 48cm wide by 52cm deep, probably made in China for their smaller apartments. Power consumption at 174kWh/yr doesn't look too bad with a 4* freezer bit. Didn't you get a Victron inverter in the end, what's the standby/idle current on that?

Ours is the shoreline with the smaller freezer above. It does stick out a bit and I suppose if it was taller still the tumblehome would push it out further.

Something to bear in mind is good ventilation for the black grid thingy at the back so some space/ventilation is needed, some have in built into the side though.
Either way the instructions should tell how much space is needed at back or sides.

I economised on the inverter and ended up with the photonic universe 3kw one...https://www.photonicuniverse.com/en/catalog/full/162-3000W-12V-low-frequency-pure-sine-wave-off-grid-inverter-peak-power-9000W.html to be fair it seems to work ok and the charger goes up to 90amp from the shoreline (which wer'e not on but WILL manage 35amp from the little honda suitcase generator I have) The power save mode purports to use 1.8ah but I'm not convinced ... I think we have to go down the 12v route this time

If you are going to be mostly on shore power then fair enough, but I think if you properly work out the cost of another 30AH or so of generated power each and every day, your food economies will look less attractive and quality of life will be worse due to being a slave to the generator.

trust me - sometimes when Andy gets something into his head, it's just easier to go along with it.... besides, I can get diesel and petrol from work 'cheap' so a side from a bit of inconvenience, the cost won't be prohibitive...
There are also the solar panels which I've already got wired in (just under 600 watts worth) and even on dull days, they're doing their bit.
