I don't really understand how a 110v gennie would run a 240v heating element when the 240 output of the generator is not enough. I suppose it would just take longer (about twice as long in the case of the kwakker 1400 gennie) to warm up would it? Ohms law.... But yes, it would take longer. Fill it full of hot from your cauliflower spark Genny up, JD!

I'm surprised these wood fired hot water boilers are not fitted in live a board's, seems to be a very simple and free fueled option if you want to live off grid and enviromentally freindly, a few sticks of wood and your done, it also removes the need to have a stove back boiler running when you don't want heating.

Back in my working days I knew a chap who always brought a vacuum flask into work to take boiled water back home with him to save electricity cost.
