We had Japanese knot were in our last back garden. We found out unless you remove every last bit. Even a small cutting will re establish itself and spread like crazy.
Our neighbours did nothing about it in there garden and it would always creep back. You probably need to get rid of a load in the field too.

As we are talking cars, Don't rebuild a Corsa cylinder head and forget to pre fill the cam followers with clean oil......before you refit the rocker cover.
If you forget it will be an utter bar steward to get started.

1973. Morris Minor van. Trip to the isle of Coll via Oban. Arrived Oban, pissing down with rain, decided to cook with camping-gaz stove in freight area.
One week later, back home. Filled up with petrol at garage. Pump attendant not concentrating, petrol spills out onto forecourt. Investigated.
Floorboards up, huge great hole in top of fuel tank.

How is the hole in the fuel tank connected to cooking with a CampingGaz stove? We were in Oban Summer 2015, Britrail Pass 2 days, from Sowerby bridge to Preston to Glasgow and Fort William (overnight), then to Crianlarich to Oban (3 hours), back to Glasgow, & Manchester, and via Todmorden back to the boat. Oban, western Scotland

Oban, western Scotland I suspect that cooking with open flame in the back of the van would be a risky venture with the fuel tank under the floor especially as the tank had a huge hole in the top of it. 77 firemans strike we had a sump heater under the green goddess to help get her started, it was one of the lads jobs to remove it before I drove out of the temp garage. We had only got a mile or two down the road before we had a radio call to come back and put out the fire back at the garage.........................................oops
