so a few members had a discussion about it? Now you think it's poicy? Not at all Kris. There can be no such thing as a formal 'policy' on an unmoderated site, surely you can grasp such a simple notion as this? There can however be a informal concencus about what people should post. Otherwise what's does self moderation actually mean? Does it mean foul language can be used when it suits you to do so? Have some of you not yet grasped that the use of language on here is discouraging people joining and has lead to people leaving? i understand what unmoderated means. There can be no Informal consensus if all members havent taken part in the discussion and agreed to the "consensus." I don't get the fascination with getting lots of members. Has there been a discussion about this being the prime objective of the forum?

On the contrary John, you are either forgetting what you have posted previously or it means as I said. you are a hypocrite. Well, the simple answer is that if you don't like this thread or this forum, then you are at complete liberty to decline to visit either or both again. Twat. Of course, that is very true. But of course I can also stick around and highlight the double standards and hypocricy that pervades the forum.

Perhaps www.insomniacs.com or www.troublesleeping.co.uk would benefit from your input Martin.... FFS your pathetic line of goading could send a glass eye to sleep!!!

As you are unable to grasp this then it's pretty obvious why you don't have a clue what I'm talking about.

I suppose if the forum is funded by advertising then the prime objective is probably to get max number of hits on the website but it would rely on a certain number of posters to make it worth reading. Don't know really.

But why exactly would you wish to be a member of a forum which is "pervaded" by double standards and hypocrisy? Surely you can find a forum which isn't and post there? Would you like me to find one for you?

It is an unmoderated forum, so you are being a TWAT.

Unmoderated and self moderated are two different concepts. As you are unable to grasp this then it's pretty obvious why you don't have a clue what I'm talking about. i grasp this forum was set up as "unmoderated" some members have decided that it is "self moderated " but as there has been no official guidance to confirm such. It is an unmoderated forum, so you are being a TWAT. Let me help you Kris. unmoderated means there is no moderators or any formal policy on what is allowed and not allowed. self moderation means the members themselves moderate what they post. This means they consider what they post in the context of what other members find acceptable. The problem here however is that some members, John being a good example have clearly stated that they have found some posts unacceptable but then suddenly finds the same type of language acceptable seemingly because it was directed at a specific individual. This is hypocrisy, which is fine as it stands but let's not get all out of shape in the future if somebody happens to use bad language when it doesn't suit.
