What do we think? I think whoever you were talking to has got it almost right , . . . but I would say that 'intend' is not quite the right word, it's more of an aspiration !

What do we think? Can't speak for "we", but the concept was seriously analysed for financial practicality within the Fraenkel Report back in the 1970's, and the conclusion was that this was simply non-viable - on commercial as well as practical grounds. Today the ecological/drainage/flood relief sensitivities would make even the concept out of the question.

For the inland boaters and avoidance of doubt force <4-5 Beaufort scale, <sea state 4 moderate. Sea state 4-5 would be what you might call uncomfortable.

He's listening to the shipping forecast. The order of Forth, Tyne, Dogger, Fisher always made me chuckle I used to enjoy Sailing by and the shipping forecast at the end of my shift. I'm on days now so never hear it

I was in a meeting the other day with an expert from MI6 who specialises in highways and road transport in respect of illegal trafficking, and he assures me that any towed vehicle capable of holding people will become illegal from January 2019. Not a lot of people know this, and the Caravan Club have been sworn to silence.

I imagine this MI6 bloke you speak of has the lowest security clearance level. If he is a higher level operative then him telling you this sort of sensitive information could lead to very bad outcomes. Don't forget Brexit was won by caravanners turning out en masse because they don't want to have to do MoTs on their wheelie bins.
