On the other hand coming into a wetroom direct from the back is a better idea, especially in mucky weather as the wet clothes can be discarded without worrying about them getting soft crappy furnishings wet Yeah there is that though I was thinking if u have guests they have to pass through bedroom to get to the wet room..I guess theres pros and cons with all layouts..I had my bedroom at front and it was freezing cos wood burner was right by the back doors so I used to sleep in the lounge.

I like that one better..good layout So do I. The misses sent me some pics and it's a nice boat. I think the roof needs painting and new covers. But if it's the right boat, that's nothing.

It seems a lot of money for a Liverpool boat which after all are a "cheap" boat to start with. But hey what do I know.

Foxy's idea: buy a new engine of your choice. Then buy any boat you fancy (almost guaranteed second-hand boat engines are knackered).

They say...still dunno who these 'they' are who drip pearls of wisdom....That a boat is worth what someone is prepared to pay.... There are lots of us fallen in love with something...not necessarily a boat... and paid over the odds...but if at the end of the day you are content with what you brought and have no lasting regrets...then I think it's ok.

You may of noticed elsewhere. But an offer was accepted and the survey is in a week or so time.
A mooring in a marina has been secured. It's the same one her friend has moved into so will have some company and someone to watch over the boat.
We will hopefully be out boating on the k&a very soon. Quietly confident that the survey won't throw up anything too abnormal.
First major trip will be the globe inn at linslade.
I won't get any more carried away untill the deal is done. But there is excitement in the air.

Foxy's idea: buy a new engine of your choice. Then buy any boat you fancy (almost guaranteed second-hand boat engines are knackered). Not if they've been serviced properly. My BMC 1.5 is over 30 years old but it starts readily (it does need a bit of persuasion in sub-zero temperatures but they all do), it doesn't smoke, knock, rattle or bang, it had 2,500 engine hours on it when I bought the boat and 4,500 now. The only problem I've had was a leaking injector pump which cost me two crates of beer to have re-sealed and I expect it to do at least 15,000 hours before it needs a rebuild.

BMC 1.5s are a decent engine providing you respect their limitations, they dislike being thrashed and are intolerant of overheating. Lots of boat installations were (are?) very mean with the cooling system and this gave BMCs (imo) an undeserved bad reputation. I believe the problems were due more to the builder than the engine. (That seems to go for all the BMC 4 cyl engines up to 2.5ltr)

mil has organised a survey. 29th August.
she's getting lifted out and were all going up to trowbridge for the occasion.
if all goes well mid October, just intime for us to come back from Cyprus.
And we will be up to move it for them to devizes.
I've found out it has a girlie button so should make our first effort of reversing onto the pontoon easier.
