We didn't know Ellis had taken snaps or a video - I would have had my Fox's Pizza Den hat on if I had known (it's a Chicago based company, and my hat came from their restaurant in Brandywine, West Virginia). Ellis looks like his avatar (a bit poofy - Shut That Door! Suits You Sir!) and he is a very nice and bright chap. Which got me thinking today, having met several Thunderboaters, that the Canalworld moderatots (haha! spelling mistake but I'll run with it) and steamboat-Dan really got it wrong to ban these previous contributors. His loss is Thunderboat's gain. So the Goole meeting didn't materialise. It's the way boating goes, so much happens so slowly that timetables bend all over the place. Now we have left the huge, wide realms of the Aire & Calder and are almost back in familiar lands as we start to climb into the Pennines once more - every lock is up. Bit of a surprise - my boss informs me schools in Kannus start Friday 11th Aug and I'm never gonna make that! Flying on 10th. Must have changed the date? We did check, and I told him well before Summer I'd be back when schools start Aug 14th. They'll have to find another driver. I hope he's naughty and tells the kids I have been horribly mangled in a lock, chopped up by the propellor or something, so I can surprise the little fuckers on the Monday!! "How very dare you?" - JUST cause a chap dances backwards and smells clean doesn't mean he's Larry Grayson... I'm more of a Felicity Kendal anyday :-) I have my doubts about you now though Mr Foxy... For "an older man" you've got very nice soft facial skin... one can only assume its from all that time you spend lurking in saunas... lol BY your OWN admission. It was good to meet you both - Good luck on Sunday.... When Andy gets back from chores this morning, we're heading to Leeds for the weekend puff march. We'll aim to get through that broken lock in the afternoon penning and lurk somewhere above Lemonroyd tonight before setting off into Leeds early doors.... I can't imagine many other wooley woofters on the pride march will be arriving by narrowboat. Now WHERE did I put my pink handbag?? ;-)

Might even catch u in Leeds as we could nip in between ringing the bells (1100-1500 free). Launderette duty this morning. Again, a canal devoid of boaters. It's astounding. Where are all the Shire Cruiser boats?

Poofs arriving by narrowboaters aren't that uncommon. Met a chap arriving at Manchester Pride last year, in Daddie's boat.
