I've eaten too steaks. a bit tough but very nice. my kids have eaten croc burgers and have had many pigeon burgers too. I've eaten crocodile burgers, they were selling them in Iceland last year. They were pretty disgusting and I didn't buy them again.

I had southern fried alligator once which was very pleasant. A friend and I also cooked and ate a carp we caught. It was very nice, but the amount of tiny bones put me off doing it again. The carp we ate grew up in a Spanish reservoir, not a grotty canal though, I wouldn't expect the mutant beasts that roam our polluted ditches to taste as good.

I believe our eastern European friends put their canal booty in the bath at home to purge for a few days before eating them.

That would be a good idea, I have often wondered how they felt when they cook up a Christmas feast only to find it tastes a lot more like turds than the carp they eat at home.. I ate earthworms once and we had to leave them in a bucket of water over night to purge the mud from them before cooking.

Shop bought crocodile meat is commercially farmed and tadtes completely different from 'wild' caught crocodile which has a gamey taste - no doubt due to its natural diet instead of ex layers & pellets.

while we are discussing meat, how many of you have killed and prepared it yourselves? Ate a young cock last week, in the past have caught rabbits using a ferret, as well as roadkill picked up while away camping. Found a roadkill hare just before christmas once. A nice change from Turkey.

as a kid, snared rabbits, poached pheasants (at night with torch on an air rifle).
often had roadkill pheasant. Believe anyone who eats meat should be capable of killing gutting and preparing. (at least smaller meat animals/birds)

Shot, cutted and skinned my first (& only) deer at 19 - extremely tender and tasty
Love Moose meat - Big flavour with only S&P needed for seasoning and maybe a bit of wild garlic
Have eaten Rabbit, Pheasant, Grouse & Buffalo - all very tasty
Absoutly love any and all fresh shell fish...Lobster, clams, scallops, musseles, shrimp, prawns, oysters (raw with peppered vodka), escargot, crab & crayfish
Shark is also one of my favorite fish, other than that I only eat salmon & tuna. Don't eat white fish at all. Shark is a string meat pretty much the same texture as beef.
Won't eat either Lamb or any of the organs of animals which some people seem to enjoy, liver, kidney etc

Thought I'd try a 'leg of dinosaur' roast with all the trimmings for tomorrow's meal... Mint or Cranberry sauce? ]
