We visited Dijon by car for a week (the outlaws live there). I drove back from Dijon to London yesterday including a P&O calais-dover ferry crossing. Nice weather nothing wrong with the boat itself but
Hells teeth! The ferry was ridiculously full it was like being in one of those shopping centres with too many plebs but you can't get out for an hour and a half. I think there were more coaches than usual as I've never seen that many people aboard and we do use ferries fairly regularly.
I even had to buy a pint of lager just to deal with the horror of it ! £4.20.
I'm still recovering from that and the idiot Belgians who think its appropriate to drive 1 metre behind me when I'm passing a truck on the autoroute des anglais at 90mph.

I expected better of you!👎

I'll be able rant once I have fully recovered.
The ferry was full of Germans. Full. Ich bin eine kleine nacht musik that sort of thing. I was desperate to mention the war but did not dare as I was outnumbered.
It was like the 4th bloody Reich.
What a fucking liberty.

You told me you were in Ealing Broadway yesterday. Well as I was on an MI6 secondment whilst in France I had to tell people I was somewhere else (ealing seemed suitably random),or the North Koreans would locate and neutralise me within minutes.

You think £4.20 a pint on a boat is bad? Try £5.00 at the underperforming underachieving Northampton Saints, couple it to the highest casual ticket prices in the league

Actually it was quite reasonable compared with London pub prices to be fair. I am a beer shop person and don't frequent pubs or clubs often so anything over about £1.70 for a pint is quite expensive

Eurotunnel was similarly busy on Saturday - it's the last week end of the school holidays so a lot of families were returning to the UK from the continent.

The pint on the ferry came in a glass glass. I had the drink on the open deck which was level with the passenger deck. When I needed a slash just as we were docking in Dover the exodus had started towards the car deck and the plebs were blocking the way to the bogs so I was forced to piss in the pint glass and throw it into the sea! A tiny splosh it made all that way down. How shocking, with my kids watching. Oh dear. Quite enjoyed that though.

so I was forced to piss in the pint glass and throw it into the sea! I would have left the glass on a table and said to some kraut "Look! Someone's left their beer!"

My mate stewards at Saints, I used to take her lad with me, he used to collect the discarded pint pots and redeem the £1 deposit on them while we waited for his Mum to come out of the stewards debrief 🍻👍

I really wanted to say "Heil Hitler" and do an arm movement but as they were all rather youthful (probably exchange students or terrorist infiltrators) they probably wouldn't know what I was on about.
