Does anyone have a bird on the boat?
I was wondering about a parrot but its a bit cruel and maybe a lot of maintenance and shit cleaning etc.
Would be good for a giggle though specially if you could train it to say rude things to visitors.
Is it a bad idea?

We've passed a few boats in our travels that had very large bird cages. One even had a rabbit hutch in the bow locker...took up pretty much the entire bow! Also seen a boat with a chicken coop on the stern No sence having a parrot that can't say naughty things:)

When we first moved aboard we brought a hand reared budgie and cockatiel who were part of the family along with 4 dogs. Sadly at Xmas some morons decided to fire rockets and whiz bangs at the boat and both birds dropped dead from the shock. I went out racing around to find the culprit with murder in my heart. Phil

I saw a tug style narrow boat with a goat on the deck once. I guess it grazed the towpath.

I have had a couple of budgies on the boat for about 12 years, I find them great company and Arthur could talk quite well good enough to fool Marcus the dog anyway. having had them around for so long I would find it difficult to be without them. Death on the most part has been through old age but 2 have escaped how they did it I have no idea
